I still can not believe that researchers at the University of Washington have created a cellphone that works without battery. And I will quote the article where I read about it. They express very well in a sentence one of the meanings of this new invention.

The phone instead of using battery grasps the energy to be able to function of radio signals or the light. The research team even made Skype calls.
