Clearing Up Here and There, Inside and Out, to Get Out of a Writing Rut
# Clutter

>Clutter is the physical manifestation of unmade decisions fueled by procrastination. ~Christina Scalise

I was scrolling my social media and saw this quote posted by a friend of mine. It caught my attention. My eyes then slowly scanned the surrounding areas. "True", I said to myself. This is a truism that needed to be shared and repeated to me a million times; and yet, even if I am often reminded of it, I still find myself wondering, "how on earth did clutter creep into my life?" LOL

And, still in the spirit of the new year, we have been cleaning up spaces in our house that I've not visited for a long time, let alone seen. The clutter have taken over. It's horrendous!

# De-cluttering

As I sift through things that we have accumulated over the years, I find myself baffled and really confounded by the fact that I have fallen victim to the marketing ploys of companies using the tried-and-tested techniques that I can't seem to avoid. What can I say? I am a sucker for these things. And now I find myself contemplating, of throwing away stuff that we have bought but never really used. Sad reality of life. Either that or buy storage, or maybe, move to a bigger house. So, to continue with this soliloquy, because moving to another house is out of the question and buying storage space is too expensive, the only viable option is to give away things to family members and friends who might visit.

# Clarity and Consciousness

Meditation, relaxation, fornication - or, maybe not the last one. What I mean by this is whatever works well for you, de-cluttering also goes for the intangibles in my life, in our lives. It's easier to think with a clear mind. Mindfulness if you will. How aware we are about something, anything? Being able to focus on the present, to live in the moment and happily accept whatever life throws at you whether good or bad, happy or sad. _Parang kanta, noh?_

My train of thought is really going bonkers here. So to return to the theme of my blog post, I believe that it is necessary to de-clutter to be able to let in new energy into the mind and in the surrounding spaces around us. Let the energy flow. Let your breath clear up the mind.

# Writer's Block

I get bitten by the bug from time to time, the writer's block bug that is. It's one of those days when I really feel that I want to write, but I only get one, or two sentences at most, of coherent writing. It's frustrating. It's annoying. And, it affects my life in many ways because writing on my blog is therapy. It's how I get my mind away from the worries of the offline world. So a world without writing creates clutter up there, in my mind, where I need to be at my clearest because a cluttered mind fogs my intentions and execution of my plans and then I do what I need to do, such as what I'm doing now, to get back into the groove of things; to get into the vibe of writing.

# To End

In the end, I hope freewriting helps to get me out of the rut and get back into my normal rhythm of publishing blogs on a consistently regular basis. De-cluttering, freewriting, meditation and awareness exercises, relaxation, etc. are all things that have helped me in the past to break the writer's block. I'm still not out of it yet, but I have a feeling that I will after a few days of uploading a blog or two.

And I will end here. If you have stayed on and read my ramblings, I really appreciate it. You are awesome. Thanks for reading up to here.

Love and peace.
