Most of the art I work on involves digital painting or photo manipulation so I thought it would be fun to show off one of the rare times that I participated in a more traditional art challenge!

@tonyr is having a challenge where you have to draw one of the three images provided only in pencils/coloured pencils. It's meant to be a fun challenge where you practice art in a more traditional sense and also helps you progress and learn from others! This is especially useful for me as I almost exclusively draw and paint digitally and it has been ages since I picked up a pencil. It really made me appreciate how easy digital is as you can start working with less forethought and change things later.

Seeing this kind of gives me the urges to get my pencils out and smudge around with my fingers. There's definitely a more tangible feeling to working with real materials and though it has it's drawbacks (you have to be better, no transform or liquify tools to cheat with!) it gives a unique sense of accomplishment.
