Did you know the Warriors tried to trade Steph Curry not once not twice but three times no no it's easy to blame the Warriors for even considering the idea but if you were the Warriors back in 2011 trading Steph wasn't actually such a bad idea as odd as it sounds Steve Kerr tried to trade for Curry before he even put on a Warriors jersey Kerr was the GM of the Suns back in 2009 on draft day he offered the number fourteen pick and Amar'e Stoudemire for Curry according to Kurt he was very very close to getting the player he would later have the privilege of coaching.

However receiving flattering trade offers came to an abrupt stop early in Curry’s career he sprained his right ankle multiple times in his sophomore season had surgery played in just 26 games and then re injured the same ankle unproven under sized and injury prone he was losing hope and was even quoted saying I feel like I've been doing nothing but rehabbing for two years I feel like I'm never going to be able to play again think about it you're the Warriors owned by venture capitalists attempting to build a contender your backcourt is a fragile curry and a trigger-happy Monta Ellis.

How are you not thinking trade this is where Milwaukee comes in it was 2011 and the Bucks won to trade for either Curry or Ellis according to Marc Lasry who became a Bucks owner just a couple of years later the Warriors were going to receive Andrew Bogut in the deal that's right Steph Curry for Andrew Bogut Lasry later said the Bucks were ready to pull the trigger on Curry but the Bucks medical staff didn't think Steph's ankles would hold up ironically when Lazar became an owner the Bucks got rid of their entire medical staff ultimately the deal became Bogut for Ellis and the keys to the Warriors franchise were handed to care year after year injury after injury Curry's stock price was dropping big-time.

That was the pressure on every Warriors fan owner and Steph himself because that same year the Warriors tried to squeeze every penny out of step with yet another trade offer they were searching for a star they were going for Chris Paul Paul was the best point guard in the league at the time and the Warriors offer to the Hornets treated him as such they were prepared to part ways with X pay odo curry and the guy named klay Thompson the deal felt that when Paul was willing to sign an extension with Golden State and the Warriors were just not interested in dealing the splash brothers for a three-month rental.

The Warriors got good trade offers bad trade offers but ultimately had to believe again the Warriors patients would pay off they got better and better each season fought deeper into the playoffs drafted diamonds in the rough like Draymond Green made financially savvy trades to acquire veterans like Andre Iguodala and open up the checkbook to sign Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins and free agency that's the true greatness of the Warriors discovering a dynasty practicing patience then building on top of it all for the bay.
