### New Project
Loremaster is a trivia game for the Steem Monsters+ universe. This game is a simple but enjoyable format that can be built upon in the future to create a rich and detailed companion to the main card game. Individuals interested in simply playing the game rather than having access to the developer build can visit the <a href="https://thefairypark.itch.io/loremaster-10">game page</a>.

In it, the player finds themself transported to the Splinterlands and must answer a series of questions from each of the 6 Summoners to prove they are worthy to wield the cards. Three incorrect answers will send you back to the beginning. Correctly answering all questions will send you to the next Summoner until you reach the last one that can send you home.

The answers to the lore may be found on the official Steem Monsters website, their steemit, or community fiction contributions. It was built to go from general questions to quite difficult ones. It should be very hard even for players very familiar with the game to get all the answers on their own.

This project is a submission for the <a href="https://steemit.com/steemmonsters/@steemmonsters/steem-monsters-usd1-000-game-jam-invitational-in-collaboration-with-utopian-io-steemgg-and-blocktrades">Steem Monsters</a> game jam.

### Technology
Loremaster was built with <a href="https://www.renpy.org/">Ren'Py</a> and using Python. Ren'Py is not required to run the final game. The GUI contains options for adjusting sound volume, music volume, and saving player files.

The game uses menus and simple variables to execute the quiz and check player scores.

### Roadmap
As it stands, the game can be considered complete though it is possible to build it up much more depending on how much lore the game has. The most important improvement I would make would be to make the code more efficient. There's repetition that should be streamlined, but wasn't done because of the game jam time limit. In that vein, there are a few style details I can improve upon with time as well such the exe icon, the window icon, and making use for more Splinterlands themed backgrounds and maps. I also think a more cinematic loading screen would add something special.
