A wild pig ran down the street, followed by a high-pitched rage-infused yell and a cloud of -- I narrowed my eyes -- dust, intertwined with fine slithers of golden grass, chunks of dirt, and broken concrete? 

The beast squealed in terror as shards of cement rained down overhead, as it fled over hot bitumen, skidded, and with a neat turn continued its rampage into Old John's yard.

Another high-pitched rage-infused yell rang out, only this time it clearly came from John's backyard, and I couldn't help but smirk. Wonder if he'd share the bacon later.

A shrill laugh rang out, curling down the street and echoing against each neatly bricked house, then a body flew past. A body with ginger curls atop its head, as orange as Old John's chrysanthemums.

Of course.

Joey had been involved.

Why was I even surprised -- why wouldn't he be involved? This was just the type of thing he'd be involved with. Panicked pork, racing through suburbia.

Mmm, pork.

Turning away from the chaos, I took my growling stomach inside and headed for the freezer. Did we have any pork chops, ham, anything? Nope. Just a build up of frost. Perhaps Joey and I would visit Old John later this evening. Perhaps that had been Joey's plan all along.

Perhaps there truly was a method to his madness.

It's been a while since I posted a five-minute #freewrite but I really wanted to start getting some creative writing up in my little hexagon of the Hive, right from the start. 😁 I hopped by @mariannewest's <a href="https://peakd.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/weekend-freewrite-3-21-2020-single-prompt-option">Single Prompt Option</a>, scrolled down to somewhere in the middle, and this prompt leapt out at me:

*I saw a wild pig running down the street.*

It was perfect. 😄🐷 And this is what I came up with before the eggtimer website beep-a-beeped at me.
