I watched this video where this person was talking about her dad and she went on to say that as a child, every day she and her brother came back from school, her father would ask 
"So, what did you fail in today?" And if they did not have an answer, he'd encourage them to try something new the next.
And that today, she and her brother would try anything and keep going with no bad feelings if something they tried did not succeed. But that there were many things they did succeed in. 
And I loved the idea of not making it taboo to fail. And because you are not afraid to fail, it takes away that negative energy. To be okay with failure as it is part of life. 

I wish you some sense of joy in whichever path your choose and all the best @davidbright
