0.000 HBDIs the "electromagnetic pulse" the new "weapons of mass destruction"?
# The latest fear-mongering line from the MSM: N. Korea's missiles can't hurt you maybe, but the *electromagnetic pulse* can! *** **The [same story](http://www.fox32chicago.com/news/national/279122224-story) is currently in the news here in Japan as well.** Basically an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) is a phenomenon that occurs when a hydrogen bomb is detonated at very high altitudes. When the bomb is detonated the electrical grid of the city or civilization below is fried, resulting in a huge blackout and power system failure. The higher the altitude of the bomb, apparently, the broader the radius of damage. MSM sources are saying that the damage could take years to fix, and that such a bomb and the resultant loss of power would result in the loss of countless lives. *** *[source.](https://www.pinterest.co.uk/cesaera/war-in-vietnam/)* *** *[source.](http://historynewsnetwork.org/article/162472)* *** *[source.](http://www.fox32chicago.com/news/national/279122224-story)* **Now, don't get me wrong, this *is* a scary prospect.** But wait just a second. Wouldn't that mean that *every* major world power existing now likely has that capability? Certainly the US military does. And Russia. And China. Why on earth are we to assume that an EMP is going to be used by North Korea? Have North Korean officials intimated any such threats? # Currently, the US military is bombing the shit out of the Middle East. Civilians, soldiers, weddings, funerals. Fuckin' light 'em up. But when it comes to this issue, we are just to forget about all that? Are we to forget that the only military ever to use nuclear bombs to destroy hundreds of thousands of lives indiscriminately *was* the US, mere decades ago? # My thoughts. *** This sounds a lot like more fear-mongering, folks. And when the media are fear-mongering, you have to ask yourself *why.* Remember the Gulf of Tonkin "incident" used to justify the Vietnam War? Remember "weapons of mass destruction" used to get you to send your sons and daughters to die in Iraq? Remember how the rhetoric and tone in the news was *exactly the same?* Look, I am not saying the North Korean government is a "good guy." No government is. I am saying that we ought not fall for this shit hook, line, and sinker again, when we know the cost. More war is not needed. Murder is never "necessary." What is needed is an abolition of the state. Mass ignore-ance and disobedience. Make it irrelevant. Refuse to pull triggers for it. Refuse to report your neighbors to it. Refuse to pay it. Refuse to feed it. Refuse to be a cop, a soldier, or a government employee. Get paid under the table. Practice agorism. Utilize black and grey markets. # You see, war is a racket. War means money for the state, and it looks like they are trying to sell us a new one, once again. # ~KafkA [

](https://steemit.com/@kafkanarchy84) *** ***Graham Smith is a Voluntaryist activist, creator, and peaceful parent residing in Niigata City, Japan.
