How Scarcity Saves Money!

I'm always looking for new ways to save a bit of money, Usually ways that will trick my brain, So I'm not even thinking about saving money. I just am saving money.

Like if you reduce the size of your plates, You'll eat 20% less on average. I've been trying to eat on only small plates, and I feel like I"m eating less which saves money. Also helps you lose weight, Which is something I'd also like to do!

# I decided to try an experiment! #
I remembered something on vacation; You can't bring more than 3oz on a plane. Those tiny bottles, I hate them. I always get bad anxiety when I'm showering, and I'm paranoid I'm going to run out of shampoo and conditioner, I always feel like I need some 8oz bottle. But at the end of every trip, I come home with plenty left. Even in my one week trip to San Diego, Where I made multiple trips to the beach, And probably showered at least two times a day as a result.

# What If I put myself in that situation ALL THE TIME #
Who knows, maybe having smaller bottles will make me use less of my soaps, Allowing me to stretch my dollar a bit further. Plus I've been wanting to hide my larger bottles, Because I'm slowly becoming a minimalist, and I want to get rid of them. Which is silly, because I need soap right!? Not something I should get rid of "calm down Kaylin!" hahaha.

I feel like overall when I reach for my soap I use much less! The large globs of shampoo that end up getting partially rinsed down the drain have become non existent; I use what falls into my hand.
Now I'm thinking of more ways to simplify. Plus having fewer bottles in the shower, and only the essentials. Allows me to shower quicker instead of trying to pick what to use, Hence conserving water, and other resources.

# When we feel like we have less, We use less. When we have more, We use more #

If you have a buffet in front of your face, You'll probably consume as much as possible. You won't taste and savor each and every bite, But if you have a little plate in front of you with your food. You'll taste each bite; Youll enjoys it more.

This is a tactic I use for chips too. If I have a family bag of chips and I eat it from the bag, The bag doesn't last long, But if I pour some chips on a plate or in a smaller bowl, I'll eat less. I'll suck on the chips so I can enjoy the flavors.

If you want to save money, It may be as simple as downgrading the size of your items; Although keeps in mind that family sizes, Bulk sizes or bigger sizes are usually cheaper. That is why it's important to trick the brain, Invest in smaller containers and hide away the big containers until you need a refill, You'll naturally use less. And you'll have more to save at the end of the month.
