Part of building businesses relationships is similar to building a friendship. Although business relationships can help you build your work-related income making you more successful overall. Here are some tips to keep in mind as you build relationships with other people. # Excuses # IF you can fulfill an obligation, Say so. Be as honest as you can. Don't make up lame excuses. Excuses just make you look bad, Unreliable. And overall people will gradually lose respect for you as a result. Avoid using excuses in all your human relationships. # Make Others Look Good # Sometimes we have this obsession to get "credit" for everything that we do. Credit makes us feel good and is an ego booster. But is it necessary all the time? Try giving credit to someone else. Even if you feel like you did most of the work. Look at their contributions and try to recognize that. That person will gain a massive amount of respect for you, And they'll remember what you did for them. - Everyone has something to offer, But many people aren't acknowledged for their contributions. When I worked at the shipping company loading boxes, I was very fast and good at my job. When you are a new hire, You aren't always treated very well, Because you aren't very good at the job. Which Makes sense. You haven't had the practice. Occasionally I would see those new hires struggling; They'd be backed up in their trailers, Exhausted and behind. I'd sneak in their trailer. Quickly help them get caught up again, and leave and go back to my trailers. That new hire always remembered me and appreciated it. In a situation where they would get in trouble for not being "good Enough." They instead looked good, Because they kept up with the boxes they were supposed to. Later down the road, When I struggled and needed help. They'd come and help me. It was great! # Avoid Gossip # THis can be a difficult one to avoid sometimes. But it's almost like when you gossip about someone, They hear you. Even if they are 100 miles away. It almost seems like deep down they know. This can hurt all kinds of relationships. Try to not say things about people that you wouldn't tell them to their face. # Do What you say you are going to do. # We have a lot of people in this world full of empty promises. If you always at least ATTEMPT to follow through with what you say you will, People will gain a massive amount of respect for you. In Business, People will take you more seriously. And be excited to work with you, Knowing that the promises you make, You'll keep. # Conclusion # These simple but sometimes difficult tips can make all the difference in both personal and business relationships. If you practice these, you'll get better, and you'll be someone that people can rely on and highly respect.
