**Hola amigos en Hive..**
El tema de la pandemia ha trasformado nuestras vidas de una manera abrumadora, para mi enseñar en casa ha sido una tarea compleja, no solo porque debo saber equilibrar las “cosas del hogar” que son muchísimas, sino que además tuvimos que re-configurar rutinas y aprender a hacer maestros, terapeutas, psicólogos, emprendedores novatos y al final de cada día terminamos siendo papeles arrugados de cansancio y con cosas pendientes para el día siguiente… jejeje
Cuando se tiene hijo con alteración sensorial, muchas cosas que para algunos son tan naturales como abrazar, peinarse, cepillarse, etc., para otros puede resultar un esfuerzo significativo, porque la sensación que éste tipo de cosas produce, pueden incluso llegar a ser doloroso para algunas personas…
A fin de ayudar a Mathias (mi hijo) con su alteración sensorial (la cual ha superado muchísimo) le creé , le hice hace algún tiempo, una caja “sorpresa” que a través del juego le permitió relacionarse con determinadas texturas y le ayudó a tolerarlas.
**Hoy quiero mostrarles esta “caja sorpresa” que es una maravilla en resumidas cuentas, con la cual pueden divertirse muchísimo con sus hijos, ya sea que necesiten o no algún tipo de regulación sensorial..**
Esta actividad es un tipo de Educación del cuerpo y la mente, porque enseñamos sin el uso de las letras y formas, sino que a través del tacto y las sensaciones estimulamos la mente y los sentidos.
Si desean crear algo sencillo y económico y enseñar a los mas pequeños de la casa de manera divertida, ésta es una gran herramienta, los materiales sorpresas pueden ser muchísimos y dependerá de su creatividad ubicar cuales…
**¿Como se juega?**
Para jugar, los niños (o adultos, por qué no) deben ubicarse de frente a la caja; el representante (moderador del juego) deberá ir incorporando piezas con textura por la parte trasera sin que el niño(a) lo vea; una vez colocada la pieza, el niño(a) ha de introducir sus manos por los laterales de la caja, y deberá responder a lo que el moderador pregunte:
• Es blando o duro
• Es suave o áspero
• Es pequeño o es grande
• Es frío o es caliente
• Etc…
Dependiendo de las fichas de texturas que se creen pueden hacerse infinidades de preguntas. Lo importante es ejercitar la mente de los niños y ayudarles a identificar con sus recuerdos sensoriales, qué podría ser.
**Acá les dejo los materiales utilizados, el proceso y las imágenes del trabajo. Espero se animen a crear uno parecido con muchas mas fichas.**
<CENTER>**MATERIALES:**</CENTER>
* Caja reciclada
* Cartón reciclado
* Papel craft reciclado
* fieltro de color naranja
* Pintura al frio de color morado
* Pintura al frio de color amarillo
* Insumos para texturas, en este caso utilicé: algodón, arroz crudo, monedas en desuso, lentejas, etc..
* Tijera
* Regla
* Silicón frío
* mucho amor…
<CENTER> **PROCESO:**</CENTER>
1. Seleccionar una caja reciclada que no sea muy alta
2. Marcar y cortar las aberturas laterales y la trasera, por donde se introducirán las fichas con textura.
3. Forrar la caja con el papel craft reciclado para permitir un mejor acabado en la pintura.
4. Pintar a gusto personal, en éste caso le cree un símbolo de interrogación porque resumía muy bien el objetivo del juego.
5. Una vez seca la pintura, pegar el fieltro en las aberturas laterales por la parte interna, el fieltro deberá tener a su vez aberturas para que los niños puedan meter y sacar sus manos.
6. Recortar cuadros de cartón de igual tamaño y en la cantidad que se desee, pintando con las pinturas al frio.
7. Pegar con silicón frio los elementos en cada cuadro, aplicar suficiente pegamento para evitar se despeguen fácilmente con la manipulación del juego.
8. ¡Listo! A divertirse con los niños mientras a prender a reconocer con su memoria sensorial…

**Hello friends at Hive...**
The pandemic issue has transformed our lives in an overwhelming way, for me teaching at home has been a complex task, not only because I have to know how to balance the "home things" that are many, but also we had to reconfigure routines and learn to become teachers, therapists, psychologists, novice entrepreneurs and at the end of each day we end up being crumpled papers of tiredness and pending things for the next day... hehehehe...
When you have a child with sensory impairment, many things that for some are as natural as hugging, combing your hair, brushing, etc., for others it can be a significant effort, because the sensation that this kind of things produce, can even be painful for some people...
In order to help Mathias (my son) with his sensory alteration (which he has overcome a lot) I created, some time ago, a "surprise" box that through play allowed him to relate to certain textures and helped him to tolerate them.
**Today I want to show you this "surprise box" which is a marvel in a nutshell, with which you can have a lot of fun with your children, whether they need some kind of sensory regulation or not.**
This activity is a type of Education of the body and mind, because we teach without the use of letters and shapes, but through touch and sensations we stimulate the mind and senses.
If you want to create something simple and economical and teach the little ones of the house in a fun way, this is a great tool, the surprise materials can be many and it will depend on your creativity to locate which ones...
**How to play?**
To play, the children (or adults, why not) must face the box; the representative (moderator of the game) must incorporate pieces with texture from the back without the child seeing it; once the piece is placed, the child must introduce his/her hands through the sides of the box, and must respond to the moderator's questions:
- Is it soft or hard
- Is it soft or rough
- Is it small or is it big
- Is it cold or is it hot
- Etc...
Depending on the texture cards that are created, an infinite number of questions can be asked. The important thing is to exercise the children's minds and help them identify with their sensory memories, what it could be.
**Here are the materials used, the process and the images of the work. I hope you are encouraged to create a similar one with many more cards.**

* Recycled box
* Recycled cardboard
* Recycled craft paper
* Orange colored felt
* Cold paint of color purple
* Yellow colored cold paint
* In this case I used: cotton, raw rice, unused coins, lentils, etc...
* Scissors
* Ruler
* Cold silicone
* lots of love...
<CENTER> **PROCESS:**</CENTER>.
1. Select a recycled box that is not too tall.
2. Mark and cut out the side and back openings, where the textured chips will be inserted.
3. Line the box with the recycled craft paper to allow for a better paint finish.
4. Paint to personal taste, in this case I created a question mark symbol because it summarized very well the objective of the game.
5. Once the paint is dry, glue the felt in the side openings on the inside, the felt should have openings so that the children can put their hands in and take them out.
6. Cut out cardboard squares of the same size and in the desired quantity, painting them with cold paints.
7. Glue with cold silicone the elements in each square, apply enough glue to avoid easy detachment with the manipulation of the game.
8. Ready! Have fun with the children while they learn to recognize with their sensory memory...
