<html> <p>The Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange which was earlier announcing the selective approach to addition of cryptocurrencies announced the readiness to integrate support of tokens of the ERC-20 standard. </p> <p><center>https://i.imgur.com/U2UQNTc.jpg</center></p> <blockquote>"We are glad to report about our intention to support the technical Ethereum ERC-20 standard in the next months. It lays a way for support of assets of ERC-20 in Coinbase products in the future though now we don't express support of any concrete assets or functions" - the company states.</blockquote> <p>The ERC-20 standard is widely used by the cryptocurrency startups which are releasing the tokens through ICO.</p> <p>As one of services into which tokens of the ERC-20 standard can be integrated the company calls Coinbase Custody intended for storage of cryptocurrencies and differing in the raised reliability degree.</p> <blockquote>"Custody will probably support more assets, than GDAX or Coinbase, in the near future" — the company specifies.</blockquote> <p>Before ERC-20-tokens are able to come to full-function trading floor GDAX, the company intends to wait for establishment of bigger clarity in a question of regulation of such assets. Activation of support of the ERC-20 standard will also allow to restore tokens which clients of GDAX by mistake sent to the Ethereum-address of the exchange.</p> <p>Only after the token will begin to bargain on GDAX, the company will consider the possibility of his addition in the main service for quick purchase of the Coinbase cryptocurrencies. At the same time she will consider such factors as liquidity, stability of a course, etc. of GDAX, most likely, will support more kinds of ERC-20-tokens, than Coinbase.</p> <p>Into service for implementation of purchases by means of the Coinbase Commerce cryptocurrencies it isn't planned to integrate support of ERC-20-tokens at this stage.</p> <p>Now Coinbase supports 4 cryptocurrencies: bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and BCash.</p> </html>
