**Happy New Year To You All**! 🥂

At about 6am, I received a notification from @hivebuzz that today is my one year anniversary on the Hive blockchain! Woohoo! Okay, I knew it's today but the notification made it official for me and I reflected for some minutes on my journey so far.

Then the **[Ladies of Hive Community Contest #64](https://ecency.com/hive-124452/@ladiesofhive/ladies-of-hive-community-contest-64)** post dropped, I read through and knew this was the perfect platform to not only celebrate my anniversary but to participate in this contest and give some shoutouts to my amazing, special Hive friends and supporters! 

I was brought up on the principle of expressing gratitude for even the tiniest favour done to me and the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson further lend support to this. 

On reflection, my Hive journey has been an enlightening and fun one! This is because Hive is a community in which its value is obtained from the relationships we build here. No one can make it alone; we need each other. This is the reason I write this post to express my profound gratitude to all who have stood by me through this one year.

Towards the end of 2021, there were so many contests around the Blockchain such as Hive highlight, Snooks' My Hive Story...etc that would have preempted this post. It would be like beating a dead horse.

<center> **In The Beginning…** </center>
____

When the defunct Uptrennd showed signs of instability, @dreemsteem and @shadowspub (I call them my special ladies) encouraged some of us to join Hive so we could keep writing and not give up! Some accepted the invite, while some gave up. I'm glad I did not because writing had become a part of my life during the pandemic lockdowns and I did not know how else to live! Thank you both so much for your constant support. I'm super glad to be a part of the @DreemPort Teem!

Did you know there were days when I lacked the motivation to write? I'm glad that @shadowspub's Prompt-A-Day always came to my rescue! Thank you! 

I cannot talk about my growth on Hive without mentioning @theterminal community that stood by me, guided and gave me a firm footing from the beginning. I had so many questions and was always running into the general chat room to ask. Thank you @thekittygirl, @wesphilibin and @stayten 😏 for always being there!

<center> **How I Built My Storytelling Skill** </center>

I love to tell stories. I never attempted fiction writing until I discovered crypto-blogging about a year and a half ago. When I joined Hive, the first community I searched for was fiction and found @theinkwell and interestingly it was moderated by an amazing woman, @jayna, whom I already engaged with on the defunct Uptrennd. I was excited and felt at home. 

Thank you, The Inkwell team for your support and encouragement. Whenever I write my stories, I look forward to the comments which help to groom my writing! I hope to keep writing better. 

Also, Ms @mariannewest's daily prompts and the Freewrite community helped to cultivate my love for fiction writing. Thank you!

My Fridays were kind of special because I looked forward to writing about my little shopping experience around some markets close to me and engaging with the charming @dswigle on the #MarketFriday community. 

I love to visit her posts because she has a way with words that are smooth and inspiring. What's more, she's nice and charming. Oh, I already mentioned charming! 😄 I appreciate your support and look forward to participating more in the community this year.

To my dear Hive friend, @preets, thank you for always reading my stories and for your lovely, encouraging comments on them. Whenever I write a series, she urges me to finish it by posting the episodes on time! Nothing excites an artist more than appreciation of his art.

Hive is a better place and a second home to me because I am surrounded by these amazing, special people and I daily look forward to engaging with you all. I dislike tagging people and I'm cringing as I do this 😅 but it's just for this post. Please bear with me.
