It really makes you think about how pumpkins can survive in the Middle East, considering factors such as soil type, water temperature, and irrigation methods.

Most vegetable plants in the Middle East require shade to survive the intense sunlight. Direct exposure to sunlight can cause the soil to dry out quickly, resulting in wilted leaves and stunted fruit growth. To ensure healthy growth, it's important to provide shade and avoid direct sunlight.

When considering the soil for plants in the Middle East, it's important to choose varieties that can withstand intense heat and weather conditions. While it's not always hot throughout the year, temperatures typically rise from April to October. Therefore, it's essential to select plants that are well-adapted to the local climate and can thrive in the soil available.

I began planting pumpkins last year in November, expecting them to bloom and bear fruit one to two months later.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmYaw3SVjMudtgsgpYJWS8pJG19yuSddtEwMBZ8WdLa6hg/001.jpg

I have grown two types of squash, but I'm not sure of their names and can only identify them by the appearance of the fruit.

As I mentioned previously, I use a combination of soil and organic materials, such as dry leaves, vegetable and fruit peels, eggshells, and deceased animals like mice.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmZ1JDMP3iQKFntkpBMXS9aXCYvez9TZs9Ggro5Q5LbPLW/002.jpg

As the weather is currently a bit colder, I'm using tap water from the tank to water my plants. However, during hotter months, I store water in large gallons to cool it down before watering the plants.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmQyvuhj7LuqTEfajDuYgHWfAhAMUMADdVQ2XD96zc8VCF/003.jpg

I dug a soil pit that was 50 to 60 centimeters deep and made sure to remove any small or large stones that could block the growth of the plant's roots.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmeQ5cmVi1gWrS1xzZvktongPJvVS2QRa6dDfNV5q1YqUN/004.jpg

This picture shows my first pumpkin harvest of the year, which is ripe and has a vibrant yellow color. The pumpkin is organic, so even the skin can be included in cooking. It's also very crunchy and delicious.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmepUH4D8Qux19HJn2XKrawzJdmZMwFrDxFSUX615MRNGy/005.jpg

I was told that this type of pumpkin is called Long Island Cheese, a sweet variety that is perfect for making bread and soup.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmUZqwEPcE4bTr1cvVkQwvAvBUcEHyfzERF62EzxvxyS7A/006.jpg

This pumpkin weighs almost 4 kilograms, and it's the first fruit that I've hidden under the pumpkin leaves to keep it from being noticed. I'm worried that if my neighbors see it (INDIAN), they might try to take it at night again.
