Let's face it, Congress isn't working to get things done. I would really want them to do their jobs and get things like climate change to the forefront and actually do things that will help our planet. It is not so much that our planet needs saving because the planet will survive without us it has been through so much like ice ages and meteor strikes where only 1% of everything living survives. In actuality we need to make sure the planet stays habitable for us. What does this mean. This means that we need to stop relying on fossil fuels and natural gas. What is stop practices like fracking. We have so much technology and information now than ever before. We could run on solar, wind, geothermal, and tidal energy. The only reason we haven't gotten there yet even though we have the capabilities is there is a lot of money in politics. We have to get that money out as soon as possible. We are not being listened to it is the the fossil industry lobbies that are trying to get as much money out of it as it can. They do not think long-term they think in short-term gains. They do not care of the effects of the pollution because they're not going to be here to have to face the consequences of their actions and lack of actions to keep the Earth clean.

There are so many problems in the world right now that we can fix by simply having people in Congress who are aware of them and do the right thing. But maybe we can't wait that long. We have to do things now. I believe it is going to build up to a breaking point where things will get done but only if they are pressured by droves of people. "We" the younger generation, are going to be the ones to have to do it. We are lucky that we have grown up with this amazing thing called the Internet. We can communicate with one another anywhere in the world instantly. We can share ideas and information in a way that it reaches a point where he can go viral. We see the problems of the world and if you're anything like me you think about them nearly every day and wish you had the resources to fix it. That is why I have been writing a book for about three years now. I'm still not finished but I am getting close. Since I was young I've always been scared of the problems in the world and they seem to get scarier every year. But then I thought, maybe there are solutions. And I've been on the search ever since finding these wonderful ideas and perspectives that I didn't know were there before.

I would probably elaborate more once I'm finished with my book and get it published, but for right now I want to focus on Congress and what I believe could be possible solutions. And if none of the solutions are implemented or work there is something else we can do right now without Congress.

1. One of the biggest things I believe is we need to get all the old people out of Congress. They are out of touch with the real world. All it is is a bubble that they live in. For them it is all about the money and the lobbyist and the way that they can manipulate the laws to get more of it. We need to get young people and Congress had it should stay that way. I would probably recommend ages 25 to 30.

2. In addition, there should be term limits whether it is a couple years or a few years. Otherwise we would be stuck with people like we are now without bidding Congress for may be over 40 years with the old ideas of their time.

3. We need to get rid of lobbyists in Congress. Companies corporations, they are not people so they should not have the same rights as we do as people, actual living people. Majority of people in Congress with the exception probably very very very few of them do the bidding of their donors so they can get as much money as they can from them. That's who they are beholden to, are their donors. They're the ones who get to bed and shape the rules to benefit them while putting everything else on the cost of the US citizens, the country, and the planet.

So those are my main ideas to try to fix this broken system. Maybe it's too broken to be fixed at this point or these ideas will never be implemented because the ones that top want to stay on top.

That's okay, maybe we do not need Congress as much as we think we do. Maybe we don't have to get rid of them, maybe we'll just work around them. How? You ask? Well when first getting into bitcoin I would listen to James D'Angelo on his blackboard series World Bitcoin Network wbn for short. One of his videos talked about this website called climatecolab.org. It is basically a place where anyone who signs up can create a proposal on what to do about climate change. It allows you to work with other people from around the world. They have contests to determine a winner which will then be worked on with experts and scientists to implement the proposal or ideas in the real world.

James D'Angelo created a proposal I believe called Sno-Caps: The People’s Cap-And-Trade which I believe you guys can still find. In short, the concept is to have an app which users hold carbon shares and can distribute them to companies that they believe have good practices and principles when it comes to the environment. One example would probably be Whole Foods. What one could do is give shares to Whole Foods and they would get paid every day for those shares they give to the company whether it is a penny per share or $.10 a share or so on.

James D'Angelo won the contest for his proposal in 2014. I do not know exactly when the app will be released but I can't wait. So hopefully you guys check out Climate Colabs because I believe this could be a potential alternative to Congress. With this, we can get things done without them.

Thanks for reading, and keep on Steeming!!!
