## **Introduction**

People, the PolyCub ecosystem continues on its rapid path of growth and expansion. On tap for all of us lucky (and smart) enough this week is our first chance at exercising the xPOLYCUB Governance Protocols recently put in place by 'the team'.

I don't know about you guys and gals, but use of the phrase 'governance' relative to cryptocurrency raises the little hairs on the back of my neck. How many of those 'governance utility tokens' are you still waiting for? For most of those past projects promising 'governance' the only ones' deriving any of the spoils were the developers who reaped billions for non-delivery on their promises.

But personally, when Khal & Co. first mentioned governance with regard to PolyCub, my interest was piqued. An established, trusted team with a history of delivering on its promises - well - for me it's a no-brainer. Just sign me up.

### **If You Own xPOLYCUB, the First Governance Proposal is Up for Vote**

If you staked POLYCUB into xPOLYCUB, you have the right to vote on the first governance proposal which addresses a specific and integral part of the PolyCub ecosystem mechanics.

This governance proposal specifically addresses whether the penalty window for the x block locking period of 90 days should remain or be reduced to either 30 days or 15 days.

Apparently, this specific governance proposal originated from community feedback complaining the 90 lock was simply too long. Additionally, it appears that more Hiveans would provide liquidity to the new pHBD - USDC pool if they did not have to wait the 90 days to claim their return.

This proposal is very important and goes to the heart of one of the basic mechanics of the PolyCub ecosystem. As such, it deserves your attention if you hold xPOLYCUB tokens.

### **Voting on the Proposal is Easy and Only Takes a Minute**

As the team is still working on the UI for the governance mechanics, the mechanics have been 'roughed into' the ecosystem and require some more testing. So for this first governance vote, there is no front-end to use for voting.

Instead, a very easy two-step process has been afforded for voting:

- **Step One:** Decide upon which locking period (90, 30, or 15 days) you wish to vote for.
- **Step Two:** Open your Polygon wallet and make your vote heard with a simple send TX:

Governance Address: 0x2CAA7b86767969048029c27C1A62612c980eB4b8

Send 0.0009 MATIC tovote to keep the claim lock at 90 days
Send 0.0003 MATIC to vote to reduce the lock to 30 Days
Send 0.00015 MATIC to vote to reduce the lock to 15 Days.

Relative to this vote, please note the following important information:

- You must submit your vote from the Polygon address where your xPOLYCUB is held;
- Only one vote per address is permitted and multiple votes simply will not be counted'
- Once your vote is submitted it is final and may not be modified;
- Voting on these proposals is stake weighted (meaning your votes weight is based on the amount of xPOLYCUB you hold); and
- For your vote to count, it must be submitted before the close of voting which will occur **April 25th at 12:00 EST**

So friends, if you hold xPOLYCUB and care about the future of the PolyCub protocol, take advantage of this governance procedure and **VOTE!!!**

## **Final Thoughts**

The instant proposal is just the beginning.

But before 'Whale Wars', in about 12 days comes the second governance proposal up for vote and it will most likely be to add an SPS vault to PolyCub. Not only are the potential benefits of this high for Splinterlands, the benefits to PolyCub could be huge [see, e.g. @leofinance, supra].

Many exciting times ahead for PolyCub, Leo, and Hive. Don't know  about you guys and gals, but I'm going to sit back and enjoy every minute of the ride.
