LEO POWER Up Day a.k.a. LPUD is not just a day for powering up LEO. Every 15th of the month, we all come together and talk about LEO while sharing how much we power up. It was modeled after Hive Power Up Day (HPUD) which is on the 1st of every month. 

LPUD is a day for **celebrating community**. That's my favorite part of the event. I get to see all the loyal LEO community members come out of the woodwork to power up LEO and talk about my favorite subject in the world. I love hearing from everyone and I love seeing the activity on the INLEO UI spike on LPUD.

## 1,000 True Fans

In my [Vision of INLEO](https://inleo.io/@khaleelkazi/the-vision-of-inleo) blog post from earlier this week, I outlined the vision we have for INLEO (Formerly LeoFinance).

The vision is very similar to that of LeoFinance. We have simply expanded the scope and scale of what we're aiming to achieve. While the vision of LeoFinance was to democratize access and knowledge to finance, the vision of INLEO is to build a thriving creator economy that is centered around digital ownership, tokenization and communities.

The direction of the mission remains the same but the expansive nature of building "The Everything App for Web3" has driven us to open to a much broader audience. 

We've realized that to democratize access and knowledge to finance, we need to build an app that caters to all sorts of users. While LeoFinance catered to the Crypto & Finance hardcore, that was not our target audience. Our target audience is the average person who has even a tiny spark of curiosity about the world of Finance and inevitably, the world of Web3.

Web3 will seep into all aspects of our lives. We're slowly seeing this become reality and in my opinion, we'll see a massive convergence in the next decade. Finance has become increasingly digital. 90% of people I know don't carry any cash anymore. It's all digital.

How long until our digital selves on the internet (call it social media and messaging our friends through both open and private platforms like Instagram or Messaging) converge completely with finance?

Venmo does $200B in annual payment volume. This is largely money moving between friends. 

Money is becoming democratized. Access to it is already becoming democratized.

The mission is to educate people on this and give them more power over it. Our digital selves are able to transact in a far superior way to our physical selves. This is where the vision of INLEO takes shape. To build a thriving creator economy where you - the creator or the user - has full ownership over the entire digital stack.

From the platform itself through LEO to the content you create on Hive to the digital identity you own (your Hive account), the mission of INLEO is to empower your digital self. It's not just so that you can earn more money for your activities online (although that is a key piece), it's also so that you have basic fundamental human rights online. Nobody owns ***you*** but ***you***. 

On Web2, this is not the case, but it is on Web3. 

1,000 true fans (both the OG version and the more recently updated version) is my favorite article on the internet. I've read and re-read it many times and I use it as a guiding principle for building INLEO.

It doesn't take 1,000,000 people to start a movement. It doesn't take 1,000,000 people to be a social media platform.

It only takes 1,000 hardcore, dedicated fans to build a place. In my vision article I talked about the strategy to grow INLEO. Our aim is to get to 1,000,000 Monthly Active Users. Right now, we are at ~1,650 as of September's MAU figures. 

This number has been exponentially increasing over the years. At the start of 2023, we had just 500 MAUs. We are 3x larger now than we were just 10 months ago and each month, we grow by exponentially more than the previous month. 

Network effects are starting to take shape. The more that people are active on Threads, the more that new users are attracted to get active and stay active. 

## LPUD is a Reminder

To me, LPUD is a reminder of the mission. It's a reminder of the community.

When we roar - and that's what we all love to call it - on LPUD, we are heard in a massive way. We make big waves when we move together. This is one of the best parts of the Zealy campaigns - we are able to focus our activities on specific actions.

When we all put weight behind something - as 1,000 true fans - we make a huge impact. 

Our team has been talking to Breads a lot lately. He is an influencer on X and he is blown away by how active the LEO community is. We've shown him this activity by using Zealy to blow up his X Spaces and the Threadcasts that he now runs for each space.

Each time he runs a Space, there is a Threadcast. That Threadcast gets **nearly 1,500 Hive comments** every single week. Name another place where that happens, I'll wait.

His Spaces attendance has also reached all-time highs. Our community is powerful but it needs to be aimed at particular things. We're going to keep repeating this process with dozens of X influencers over the coming weeks and months. The aim is to onboard them and we are using Threadcasts as the selling point.

In Threadcasts, they'll invite their existing audience to sign up for a Hive account through the https://inleo.io/signup UI. 

After signing up (in under 30 seconds), their audience members can dive into the Threadcast which we've built to essentially be like a live Twitch Chat. Then they can reward their audience with upvotes as we'll delegate LEO POWER and HIVE POWER to them. 

Additionally, we're in the Threadcast upvoting their audience members. $0.50 is the typical upvote in terms of LEO + HIVE rewards on a Threadcast comment. 

It's wild to imagine the possibilities of 100 X influencers who do weekly spaces doing Threadcasts on a weekly basis and getting close to 1,500 comments on each cast. That's 150,000 comments per week on the Hive blockchain from Threadcasts alone. This is from our small audience of 1,000 true fans. Imagine the exponential network effects taking hold. As each influencer onboards their 1,000 true fans, Threadcasts could start getting a lot crazier. Wen will the first 10,000 comment Threadcast happen? How about the first 100,000 comment Threadcast?

[According to Dalz](https://inleo.io/@dalz/number-of-transactions-on-hive-or-posts-comments-votes-transfers-and-custom-jsons-or-sep-2023) there are roughly 27,000 comments per day on the Hive blockchain which is 189,000 per week. 

With 100 X influencers averaging 1,500 comments on each Threadcast, we are talking about nearly doubling the entire amount of comments on the Hive blockchain from Threadcasts alone. That is an exciting number to think about. Our weekly AMA's get around that number. The CTT podcast has been growing and getting in the mid to high hundreds of comments. Breads is the golden case: he is a newly onboarded influencer and getting nearly 1,500 on each Threadcast.

97 more to go. We've got a bunch of irons in the fire and are talking to dozens of influencers right now to onboard them into their own Threadcasts. By telling them about Breads - who many of them know personally - we're able to show off the potential of Threadcasts and what they can do to grow their audience (which is what they care about!). 

Things are heating up and will continue to do so through December. I think we're well on our way to that 5,000 MAUs goal by the end of the year. It's crunch time and I am ready for it.
