क्षमता आदि गुण प्राकृतिक रूप से विद्यमान है। इसकी
रोग प्रतिरोधात्मक शक्ति के कारण ये सफाई के बिना
भी कई दिनों तक बीमार नहीं होती है । जबकि विदेशी
काऊ नियिमत सफाई व देखभाल नहीं करने पर कई
प्रकार के रोगों से ग्रस्त हो जाती है।
इसीलिए भारतीय गौवंश को सम्पूर्ण संरक्षण देना
हमारा कर्तव्य ही नहीं है अपितु हमारे स्वास्थ्य तथा
आर्थिक समृद्धि के लिए भी अति आवश्यक है। ये
स्वयं सिद्ध तथ्य है । यही कारण है कि हम हिन्दू लाखों
वर्षों से गौपालन करते आ रहे हैं तथा ये एक उपयोगी
पशु होने से गौमाता की कहलाती है । वर्तमान में खुशी
। की बात ये है कि अब गौपालन के लिए सैकड़ों स्थानों
पर गौशालाएं खोली गई हैं। जिनमें हजारों गायों को
के संरक्षण दिया जाकर पालन पोषण किया जा रहा है।
इस हेतु दानदाता तथा स्वयं सेवी संस्थाएं धन्यवाद की
पात्र तथा वंदनीय है। ।
अगर अभी भी हमने जागृत होकर विदेशी काऊ
के स्थान पर भारतीय नस्ल के गोवंश का पालन पोषण
नहीं किया तो आने वाले समय में धीरे-धीरे गौवंश
समाप्त हो जायेगा तथा हमारी गौमाता सिर्फ शास्त्रों तथा
चित्रों में ही देखने को मिलेगी।
