 <p>Yesterday, crypto exchange Coinbase announced a $500 Million funding round from Tiger Global. However, what came as a surprise is its valuation, $8 Billion. In late 2017, the exchange raised $100 Million with a valuation of just $1.6 Billion. Coinbase has gone up by 500%, in a bear market. For exchanges, the bear market does not matter because traders are still trading. Also, the company is extremely profitable and does not really need the money. The funding was likely to secure specific strategic partners for Coinbase to expand globally. Coinbase has also been investing significantly in targeting institutional investors with products like Coinbase Pro, Coinbase Index and Coinbase Custody.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p>
