Ecency Contest - What Would I Do With 1,000 Ecency Points...
I came across [This Post](https://ecency.com/hive-133311/@ecency-star/writing-contest-if-i-have) By @ecency-star where they ask each of us to write a post describing what we would do with 1,000 Ecency points.

I thought it seemed like a bit of fun, so decided to write a post to describe what I would do with them. As said in the rules of the post, linked above, we are asked to use the tags #ececnycontest and #ecency and also post it into the [Ecency Support Community.](https://ecency.com/created/hive-133311)

**What Are Ecency Points**
Ecency points - are points you gain from any action you take while using Ecency. You can earn them automatically by posting, commenting, upvoting, re-blogging, referring friends, and even just by being on Ecency.

They are cool little boosts and usually, I let them build up, to be used whenever I feel a post I've written could do with a bit of a boost. You can promote a post, and it'll show up randomly as a sponsored post and you can even spend some of your points to get a boost in the form of an upvote. 150 points equal about one euro. You can also give this boost or promotion to other people if you enjoy their content and have a few points to spare.

**What Would I Do With 1,000 Ecency Points**
Well, I would love to say that I would spend all the points on other people, while that is possible, I most likely wouldn't spend all 1,000 on other people's content, but, I would maybe give the odd post a nice little boost here and there.

I can be pretty frugal, especially with Ecency points, currently, I have 1,412 points and I seldom use them these days so I've just been gathering them up. I love the idea of them though, and I think they come in really handy, especially when I write something that I feel needs a bit of a helping hand.

When I first started Hive I would use my Ecency points to promote nearly every post I wrote, but, after a year of being on Hive, I decided to change that and only promote or boost posts that I feel are really good. (I feel that every post I write is really good, but I mean, there are some that I lean back in my chair after and say. "Damn, where did that come from?" Hah!)

If I had 1,000 Ecency points, I would most likely hold onto them, and only use them when I read an exceptional post, or when I wrote one that I feel in myself that I couldn't have written any better. I would sit on them and watch as the points grew, and I would imagine that by the time I spent the last of the 1,000 points earned, I would have most likely gained close to that solely from my own activity around the platform.

**Thanks For Reading**
This is a fun little contest and a good chance to speak about Ecency, which is my main Frontend, I've been using it since I joined, both on mobile and on my desktop, I think Ecency points can be earned even if you use a different frontend, but, in order to use them you have to be on Ecency. I don't know if that's the case, but I think it is. I don't use Ecency solely because of the Ecency points, I just like the layout of it. But, the points are a fun incentive and a nice way of getting your content out there a bit.
