Come to think of it, my job is so demanding that it gets me always having my PC by my side. At any moment I could be called off an emergency with my company website and would need to attend to such emergency with immediate effect. So I keep it by my side always in order to not be cut off guard. Don't get me wrong, I love my job, it's tasking but I have passion for what I do. In Fact it's what I've always wanted to do. I feel like a doctor who is always attached to his phone in cases of emergencies and feel like Superman when I get to solve those emergencies.

Today I didn't go to work, having taken an excuse from work to attend my convocation ceremony which is scheduled for tomorrow in another state… I know I have a boss who's very good at raising the alarm for every little spark, so I wasn't surprised when I saw his call early this morning asking if our server was down because he couldn't access mail. I was still in bed at that time, and since my laptop is just by my side, I just turned it on to check immediately. And like I suspected, it was his bad network at play again and not the server. This is my life every single day, especially when I'm not in the office.

But what if I said the practice of always leaving my PC close to me has been going on way before I started the job. At first it made me feel like a tech bro, having to wake up to my PC sitting beside me made me want to use it to practice any skill I was learning at that time, and now it's not much of a difference because I get to use the skills I was practicing then to work and solve real life problems. For now it's the emergency for me, but I know as time goes on, more reasons would come to make me keep leaving my PC at my bedside.
