The problem Snip wants to solve is not censorship but clickbaits and articles that are paid to journalists per word. They want to shrink amounts of texts and time needed to read them to a minimum.

Another interesting part is that Snip 1.0 (as they call it) was already a live app, with 1000 subscribers. Only CEO of it was posting there short news and people were following and paying for subscriptions.
So now they decided to add more topics and allow everyone to post and get rewarded.
