I just developed a quick [BitBar](https://getbitbar.com/) plugin to show the current Steem value in your OS X menu bar. 

To install it just download **BitBar** from https://getbitbar.com/ and then save [the plugin](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/knoopx/steem-bitbar-plugin/master/steem.5m.rb) into your BitBar's plugin folder.

**UPDATE**: Now it displays a cool price chart :D
