<html> <p>Good evening, Steemit! It’s been a while since I’ve managed to sit before the Steemit drawing board twice in one day. I had a great afternoon tinkering around with concepts for the @peerplays Rock Paper Scissors contest. This morning’s entry was “Rock Paper Scissors logo contest entry #002”, and if all goes well, I’ll be doing another one tomorrow morning. I also spent some time with @moony at @caffetto while sketching a gruesome zombie drawing. I’ll be sharing that soon […tomorrow most likely] along with an announcement. I accidentally walked out of @caffetto without @guthrie’s book bag, so I made a trip here to get it. Since I’m here, I’m going to have a cup of light roast and bang out this late night blog.</p> <p>I’ve been busy lately, and it’s been great. As most of you know, I constantly bitch and moan about not having time to edit, write, blog, draw and do all the weird facets that are my job as a freelance artist. Lately, though, I’ve been finding the time for most of it and it feels great. @guthrie is back to school and my routine is finally falling in to place. I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts because I leave for LA, PA, NYC and Toronto in the next 8 weeks.</p> <p><img src="http://thevermillionfox.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/steemit336.jpg"/></p> <p>I wanted to share some recent work in no particular order. First up, new work with my close friend Miss Violet Vixen during my recent trip to NYC. We’ve shoot together four times now and each concept becomes more elaborate and complex. This was inspired by a series of photos from the 1930’s, all of which were taken of women trying on lingerie. For the most part, the pictures appeared to be candids. This shot wasn’t exactly that, but it has a different vibe, less posed, than much of my work. Violet has an endless wardrobe of museum quality dresses, slips, gowns and lingerie. Shooting her collection is always such a privilege. This is just the first of many from our last shoot.</p> <p><img src="http://thevermillionfox.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/steemit331.jpg"/></p> <p>This shot of Masuimi Max is from our last shoot during Viva Las Vegas. it’s crazy to me that VLV is already six months past. The two look book projects I had after VLV really sucked up my creative resources. They’re both completed, so it was refreshing to come back to these photos of Masuimi. I have so much fun shooting with her. There’s a collection of photos from this shoot coming exclusively to Steemit and my <a href="www.darkpinup.co">Patreon</a> in the next two weeks.</p> <p><img src="http://thevermillionfox.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/steemit334.jpg"/></p> <p>Charolette is a curvy pinup beauty from New Zealand and this is the first time you’ve seen her. She tops the list in clients I’m grateful for in her patience. I just sent the first set of photos to her and I love how these turned out. If I recall, it was her first VLV and I felt really “on” during this session. She brought a collection of vintage and custom dresses and we shot at a beautiful time share in download Las Vegas. She wanted dark pinup and this shot makes me feel like I delivered.</p> <p><img src="http://thevermillionfox.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/steemit332.jpg"/></p> <p>Elektra Cute is one of my closest friends. She’s created this empire around her name in the Minneapolis burlesque scene. She performs regularly […in the Twin Cities and abroad], she hosts big events at LUSH every Friday, even Dr. Sketchy’s monthly. This was from a shoot last fall at Constantine bar in Minneapolis. Another tragedy of my burdensome schedule, I haven’t been able to get to another edit from this shoot until today. Bonus; I bumped in to her right outside of @caffetto shortly after I finished this photo.</p> <p><img src="http://thevermillionfox.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/steemit335.jpg"/></p> <p>Micheline Pitt’s <a href="www.michelinepitt.com">Vixen</a> and <a href="www.lafemmeennoir.net">La Femme En Noir</a> look books are finished and this was the last one. This project was a massive undertaking. The attention to detail or the wardrobe was paramount, but the photos still have to be unique and captivating. Micheline is such a delight to photograph, and our location, Castle Green in Pasadena is breathtaking […as you might expect with a place that has “castle” in the name]. Photos with birdcage veils or fabric always present post editing issues, but fortunately, Micheline’s so beautiful that nothing really had to be changed beyond color and black points.</p> <p>Thanks for checking out all these new stuff. I usually post these as collections or sets of particular shoots, but I’ve been getting a handful of edits done here and there. This seemed like a good format. I post almost daily.
