What’s up, Hive? Just got home from @caffetto, reflecting on a productive day. I made some strives towards improving my overall health. I visited a chiropractor that I haven’t seen in years for some adjustments. From there, I ran some errands and found myself at @caffetto for a long window of creative work. The kind that you can dig into deeply and iterate on good ideas. I tend to keep illustration and photography in separate blog posts, so maybe I’ll share some of that tomorrow. For tonight, I have photography and that’s what I’ll be sharing.

You’ll probably recognize that I’ve been sharing quite a bit of new work with @michelinepitt, her husband Chip and Lynh, her business partner in La Femme En Noir. These edits are on deadline so I have to prioritize them, but I love editing photos of them. These three talented people are some of my best friends in LA and this shoot was my first time seeing everyone is two years because of COVID. It was something of a homecoming, and it was shot at @michelinepitt and Chip’s new jaw dropping home. My first time visiting them there.

When @michelinepitt and Lynh first founded La Femme En Noir, I was the photographer that shot their debut marketing and product campaign. Since then, I’ve shot several look books and over the years, the company’s esthetic and my dark pinup photography has become a perfectly harmonious fit. The images shot with @michelinepitt and Chip were specifically for their producing, writing and directorial credits. They’ve become a power couple in the film industry with the release of the recent short, Grummy.

Overall, this was one of the highlights of my recent trip to Los Angeles. I love them images from this afternoon and evening together, but it was just having the opportunity to hang out with friends and reconnect after a painfully long absence. There will be more coming from this shoot. I spun through the list of @michelinepitt’s picks of the RAW files and there are dozens I can’t wait to sit down and edit.
