0.000 HBDRISK AND REWARD - BATTLE MAGE CHALLENGE
Prepare yourself for a nerve-wracking game that will keep you breathless until the very end, showcasing why I am not a fan of ranged monsters and why FIRE & REGRET is one of my favorite rulesets. #
CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK

https://i.imgur.com/uGRrH9f.png #
RULESETS OF THE GAME

**Explosive Weaponry** All Monsters have the Blast ability.

**Fire & Regret** All Monsters have the Return Fire ability.

**Back to Basics** Monsters lose all abilities.
https://i.imgur.com/p3yAA9W.png The three rulesets in this game were challenging. With BACK TO BASIC and FIRE & REGRET, the only option was to select a MAGIC MONSTER, which is why my main strategy is to choose magic monsters and counter them simultaneously.

https://i.imgur.com/ml3peeB.png #
SUMMONER

**THADDIUS BROOD** is the perfect fit for my lineup, as his abilities not only diminish the offensive prowess of magic damage monsters but also decrease the HP of all enemy creatures, significantly enhancing my chances of victory in this ruleset.
#
TANKS

**CURSED WINDEKU** possesses the HP necessary to endure both magic and physical damage from the enemy, effectively buying time for my damage dealers.

**CORPSE FIEND** serves as a disposable monster in my lineup, primarily tasked with absorbing incoming blast damage to shield my other creatures.

**WILY COYOTIAN** employs a similar strategy to my **CORPSE FIEND**, but excels at tanking and safeguarding my damage dealers more effectively.
#
MAGIC DAMAGE MONSTERS

LIFE SAPPER, with its low mana cost, is a perfect addition to my lineup and will be a valuable monster in my lineup.

**DEATH ELEMENTAL** serves as the secondary damage dealer alongside **LIFE SAPPER**, as both of these monsters relentlessly chip away at the enemy's health with their potent magic damage.
#
RANGE DAMAGE

**WHISTLING DAMON **can be regarded as the primary damage dealer, but he is a double-edged sword due to the FIRE & REGRET and EXPLOSIVE WEAPONRY ruleset. While he has the capability to inflict significant damage, he is also susceptible to receiving damage in return.
https://i.imgur.com/kCXgnYu.png

The enemy opted for a powerful duo with high mana cost. Given that my lineup is specifically designed to counter magic damage, I believe I still hold the advantage over the enemy. The armor provided by **KELYA** will be rendered ineffective against my magic damage dealers.
https://youtu.be/MXAgoyMAv0g

[Battle Link Here](https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_eNbiHlH9800gm0tpDlxk&ref=kraaaaa)
**
ROUND 1
** I lost my **CORPSE FIEND** in the first round, but my remaining monsters were able to reduce both of the enemy monsters' health to 5.
https://media.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExNjIzNmM0MmM5NzUxMDE4ZWEzZWM2MzU3NmJhM2RjMGRkNzUyMDY1MSZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZzX2dpZklkJmN0PWc/kDhEhVwtbYEZyGMnwN/giphy.gif
**
ROUND 2
** Similar to the second round, I lost my secondary tank, and my main tank is gradually succumbing to damage while the enemy still maintains a decent HP, surpassing that of my own monsters.
https://media.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExOGZiNTZkYzA4NWZiNTFkZDVjN2E2Njg1MDQxNGNkYWY2YjNkMDE3NyZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZzX2dpZklkJmN0PWc/PP8s2tyBrBdxPby8Vr/giphy.gif
**
ROUND 3
** The final round was nerve-wracking. I lost my main tank and nearly all of my monsters. However, thanks to the debuff from my **THADDIUS BROOD**, my remaining cards managed to withstand the enemy monsters and successfully eliminate both of them in a single round.
https://media.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExY2JkY2I2NjlmNmEzMGEwNTkxMzJmNDY5MTAyNmFmNTMxNjA2Y2RmMyZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZzX2dpZklkJmN0PWc/R6QeVjGRzyXN3y6pA5/giphy.gif
https://i.imgur.com/2oYP4R1.png # AFTERTHOUGHTS This game was incredibly close, and luck was not on my side, especially with the misses from my ranged monsters. That's precisely why I enjoy the challenge of **FIRE & REGRET**, as it discourages the use of ranged monsters and forces me to focus on other rulesets. Although the game was tightly contested, I believe I could have performed better by swapping out my **WILY COYOTIAN** for another monster capable of dealing more damage, rather than letting it remain idle and perish without contributing anything. Such a change would have increased my chances of winning. https://i.imgur.com/X3gFzGH.png All of the images are owned by [splinterlands](splinterlands).
