### Gameplay
So let‘s get straight into the review. Gameplay-wise Unravel is a somewhat simplistic, but that is pretty much intentional because the game really isn't trying to make you feel overly challenged. Instead it wants to to feel emotions and the journey to get there is the way to tell the story. But we will still look at the mechanics anyways, because that‘s what we do here.
So you are Yarny a puppet made out of yarn and you venture on to an adventure, discovering old memories of the times when you were a toy that was still being played with. The basic premise is that as you venture further into the level more and more of the yarn you are made from is being unraveled. So you need to plan your moves so you don‘t get stuck without having any more yarn.
On top of that you can throw a lasso to reach places that are high above you or even tie knots to create bridges to jump even higher then you normally can and of course you can use your yarn to climb to places.
Using these skill you will need to overcome obstacles, solve puzzles and occasionally even out-smart enemies – but in a way that can also be considered a sort of a puzzle. So let‘s first talk about the obstacles. The obstacles in Unravaled aren't really something that takes hours to figure out how to get through them. There are a few of them that are essentially traps and those might surprise you and force you to restart from the last check-point. But for the most part the obstacles are just things you need to get over them. And sometimes getting over the obstacles is a puzzle. The puzzles are really logical and if you just take a bit of time to figure them out, you won‘t have a problem with solving them. And lastly, we have the „actiony“ parts of Unraveled. Even though they aren't direct combat, they do feel more full of action then many games where you directly engage your foes.

As you can see, when it comes to the actual gameplay, Unravel really doesn't offer that many choices. The thing is, it executes them so well that you won‘t really care about it. Everything flows so nicely and each element of the gameplay has it‘s own place in the game.

### Story
Now let‘s move on to the story of Unravel. The story follows the fate of one Swedish family as you are collecting memories of this family. And as I mentioned already all of this is done without saying a single word. Instead the story and the emotions of the story are being shown through photos, music and the settings of individual levels.

### Graphics
So let‘s talk about the visuals. As you can see from the footage, the game is simply put gorgeous! And the attention to detail! You will be trying to go through a bush of wild blackberries the next moment you are climbing over a rock in the middle of a moor just to find yourself flying as the wind between the branches of trees. And every little thing was modeled with care you just feel oozing out of the game.
The levels themselves take place in different places and seasons, but they all have one thing in common. The awe you will feel whenever you see a new one.

### Music
And on top of that sits the music. Calm ambient sounds change throughout the whole game, each of them fitting the location you are currently in just like glove made specifically for your hand. And during the moments that are more action packed, the music picks up pace as well, just intensifying the feeling of rush.

### Performance
Now it‘s time to mention the performance. But I don‘t really have much to talk about. Even though the game was made by a small studio, the game runs just perfectly.

### Conclusion
So, in conclusion: Unravel is an amazing piece of art. The gameplay feels fluid and natural and you will feel completely defenseless to the emotions the game provides with its story, graphics and music. The only 2 small complaints I have are sort of connected. The game is a bit short and a bit pricey. 20 bucks for a game that will last you just a few hours and doesn't really provide a lot of re-playability is quite a lot. But to be honest – it is well spent money for the journey you will get to take in Unraveled.
