And for a good number of them, the reason for their search is climate change. Some of the solutions they are stuff like lab-grown meat or plant-based proteins or even eating insects. But professor Magnus Soderlund from the Stockholm School of Economics took this one step further. Possibly too far. At the recent Gastro Summit, he gave a lecture called “Can You Imagine Eating Human Flesh?” created quite the controversy. In short, Soderlund says that in the end, climate change will force us to include things we would nowadays never even consider eating and most people would be quite disgusted by them. Like human meat. Thankfully, he isn't saying that we should start killing our neighbors and canning them. But still, he said that he is only talking about the meat of the deceased while it is still fresh so it can be processed. I personally cannot imagine looking at the dead body of a relative and saying to myself, well, time to eat this bastard.
