Sunday Thoughts on a Saturday: Loved and desired for the values we hold

I skipped Church on Sunday and don't have a recap to share. Come Wednesday night, I had a linger thought from the book, *Secrets of the secret place*. Part II: Making It Work. Chapter 27: The Secret of Feeling Attractive to God.

### My favorite Quote

> It's cry to become His soul mate. A soul mate is someone who not only arrives at the same conclusions as you, but who gets to those conclusions the same way you do. They think like you. Their line of reasoning aligns with yours. You have the same thought processes and responses to life situations.

> Jesus is turning His bride into his soul mate, and the secret place is where that love is incubated and enflamed.

*The author choose these two bible verses that highlight the quote above.*

* Deuteronomy 32:10 (NIV)

10 In a desert land he found him,
    in a barren and howling waste.
He shielded him and cared for him;
    he guarded him as the apple of his eye,

* Zechariah 2:8 (NIV)

8 For this is what the Lord Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye—

The feeling of being loved overwhelms the undervalued and causes me to increase the time spent in prayer...

The greatest value we can hold is the truth about ourselves.
### The story that brought this thought back today..

During lunch today, a family friend and my parents began discussing a mans wealth. A brilliant business man he was and continues to be with his rental business. His son lacks ambition and only desires his fathers' wealth. Today the discussion started with a question my father asked this mans' son. *What do you believe in?* He said only in money. His grandfather told him, only money is valuable. He believed only in money and what money could buy him.

### I wonder...

If money becomes obsolete, what will become of this man?
If the value of money is held by the belief people give it, what will this man believe?
If the value of money is held by the opinion people give it, what opinion will this man hold?
What will he value outside of money?

I think the values we hold that stand the test of opinion is true.
That stand the present time is true.
That stand the past is true.
Ultimately, I think the values that stand the future changes is true. They hold the true value that will uplift us. They hold the truth that will stand the test of time. They hold the truth that will define us. They hold the truth that will describe how we value ourselves.

*What value is that? The greatest gift of all, the gift of love and being loved...*
