# Your Body Type
Says a lot about your... health and physiological function.  It is not about appearance or level of fitness, it is more about your hormones and how they affect your body.

When we look around, we notice there are different body types.  Basically there are only 4 main body shapes... now some people are either more or less of these shapes, but they still fall within one of these categories.  These have no age limitations, however they become more pronounced as we age.

Knowing your body type will help you maintain not only control over weight gain or loss, but also in your overall health.

# Categories:  

1.  **ADRENAL** Some people have the propensity to collect excess fat in the belly area... more as sagging belly weight.    This condition is  more stress related than hormonal and why it is difficult to lose weight with exercise <a href="https://steemit.com/health/@kyusho/two-types-of-excercise" target="_blank">(which may heighten stress on the body if the in correct exercise approach is used)</a>.  Reduce Stress, sleep more, eat more protein and the vegetables to build up the potassium needed to replace what the stress burns off.


2.  **LIVER** Some folks have the belly area as a more distended protrusion, like you had a balloon inside ("Pot Belly").  Mainly seen in men, this type should not consume alcohol (Especially before sleeping) and cut back on protein.  Instead they should make their diet more rich in vegetables to help the liver... maybe even to the full vegetarian diet.

3.  **THYROID**  Others maintain weigh evenly over the entire body.  From too much estrogen or lack of digestive bile from Liver and Gall Bladder, which means the hormones will not balance.  Also this can be manifest from an stress adrenal issue that turns into immune problems like hepatitis.  Foods that help with this body type depends on the main causation.  As example if it is more of a Gall Bladder issue they should eat more foods that support the liver like vegetables.  If it was triggered from more Estrogen, they should consume more the balancing cruciferous vegetables.

4.  **OVARIAN** (also called the Gonad) And the final category is when the individual maintains the weigh more in the lower body or hips... this can also be in the waist line.  This is more of an Estrogen dominant condition.  So for weight loss you must balance the estrogen levels, this can be helped in part by consuming cruciferous vegetables, (Broccoli, Kale, Califlower, Brussel Sprouts, Etc.).  extra caution to use less hormone affected foods like dairy and some meats.


# Hormones

Your hormones control your metabolism, so your weight gain is **not about how much you eat or exercise**, but more about **what you eat and how you sleep**.

Your metabolism is how fast you burn fat, or more correctly how your fat fuels you.  And your metabolism is controlled by your hormones.

Frustration plagues many overweight individuals that see a skinny guy pounding down vast amounts of food and never gains weight _**even without exercise**_.  And this is while they are eating hardly anything and exercising every day!

### So let's get to the bottom of this!

# Adrenals

This is not related to weight, but rather stress which causes weight gain.

The Adrenal Gland is a small gland that is located just above the kidneys (both).  The Adrenal Glands are to helps your body cope and adjust for stress that affects your system.  These glands release Adrenalin to the muscles as well as facilitating the flow of blood and oxygen to the brain, heart and body to accomplish the physical actions without collapsing the body.

The body also releases the hormone **Cortisol**, however when too much is released, it signals the body to store fat around the belly.  This is to provide your Vital Organs (liver, spleen, pancreas,etc.) the fuel to keep working as fat is simply the bodies energy reserves.  It is the last fuel to be utilized by the body as the body holds it as long as possible for that reserve and protection of life.

Additionally under prolonged periods of stress the body will resort to breaking down the muscles (thighs especially) into sugars and then fat stores, storing it in mainly around the belly, but also in other pockets of the body.


### Sleep

All of the fat burned occurs during sleep, not during the waking hours... even if you exercise and burn calories.  And it only burns off during the periods of deep full sleep, so if you do not sleep well, there is a propensity to hold on to your fat.  All fat burning occurs (even after exercise) 12 - 48 hours after the exercise... and during deep sleep in the bodies recovery processes.  


### Your Thyroid Gland

Your Thyroid gland is located in the lower aspect of your neck and is responsible for controlling every cell of your body including your metabolic rate!

Any distress with this gland and the body will begin to retain excess weight (and a host of other health issues).

_**You do not need to concentrate on how much you eat or exercise as much as eating the right food for your body type and sleeping!  It may be difficult to start, but once you feel better and your body begins to change.... it will be such a great joy that you may become addicted to your new life!**_
