# Without thinking twice I choose private school.

#

Without thinking twice in my reality of a country where home schooling does not exist, since it is not approved by the government, I choose private education, over public schools, it is not easy for me, but the sacrifice my wife and I have to make is very uphill, but at the end of each school year we can see the results.


Note, I apologize to everyone if my words offend, because I will touch on a political and governmental reality of my country, Venezuela, which makes me make the decision for my daughters to study in a private school. 

Unfortunately due to the current government, educators at all levels of education, by our largest employer which is the Venezuelan State, we have a salary well below 30 dollars a month, consequently in primary education, in secondary education children and young people attending a public school only receive classes two (2) or in some very specific cases three (3) days a week. I forgot to mention that many times there are only two (2) or three (3) hours of classes on those days they go to school.

You may wonder why two or three days, well very simple, the salary is so low that it is not even enough to cover the monthly expenses that an educator has to pay the public transportation fare, many educators working in public education at the national level are practically subsidizing education in Venezuela, many teachers have other informal jobs, sell things in their homes or work in anything else that has nothing to do with education, I say this with propriety because I am also a teacher at the university and my salary does not exceed 30 dollars, I also have to do other jobs to be able to have a better quality of life, unlike school teachers I fulfill my classes because somehow those other incomes allow me to subsidize university education, besides I like to fulfill my classes.

Now I must clarify that the programmatic content of education in Venezuela is the same that is dictated in the education of public schools as well as in private schools, so in that sense in terms of content is always the same, there may be some differences in terms of one or another subject that they give in private schools and do not give them in public schools, such as in the private school where my daughters study they give them English classes from preschool and also robotics classes, that does not happen in public schools.

Do not think it is easy for me to have my daughters in a private school, no, not easy at all, but my wife and I do everything necessary with pleasure, and to show that we do everything necessary for our daughters to have a good school education, my eldest daughter who just this year 2024 graduated from high school with only 16 years, she was the best, the number one in the whole school receiving her bachelor's degree with honors, this mention that my daughter received I can say that it is thanks to the education she has received at school, but I must also make it clear that it is also thanks to the accompaniment that my wife and I have given to our daughters.


Thanks to the high performance and an excellent grade point average that my daughter obtained in school, we have already delivered the necessary documents for her to enter the university without any problem, she will study medicine.

But it was not always like that, public education many years ago was much better in public schools, in fact I did all my studies in public schools, this decline in education began after the communists took the reins of the country, and were given the task of destroying public education as well as other things.

Today, in the reality of my country, anyone who is asked if he prefers public or private education, will answer, without thinking twice, that he prefers private education.
