I was looking back a couple days ago and thinking back to the days when I was younger... When my brother and I would sit around and play video games in the midst of our summer shenanigans. 

We would hear the common consensus that we were "wasting our time by playing those silly games" or that we should spend the entire day outside. Personally, I loved playing sports like soccer, tennis, and track more than video games but I never regretted spending all that time staring up at the ole' console.

I think video games are an important art form. They allow us to play inside of a universe of imagination and characters that don't exist in the real world. I feel like the last 10-15 years have seen creativity go by the wayside.  I see the resurgence of creativity with the widespread adoption of the internet and wonderful mediums like Steemit. 

If you ever wonder why your kids love video games so much, remember the immense power that imagination and unlimited creativity can impose on a child's mind. The answer lies there. If only the world had more of that imagination....
