Monday of the last week of our winter trip in southern Argentina had arrived and we finally moved on to what would be our last stop for sightseeing. The first two weeks had flown by, but we still had a full seven days to spend together. When we got into the motorhome we were 14 strangers, but after so much time together we had all become friends. The last town we would visit according to the itinerary was El Bolsón, in the province of Río Negro, and <strong>I was very excited to return to the town that had been my home for two and a half months in the summer ❤️.</strong> 

<blockquote>Había llegado el lunes de la última semana de nuestro viaje de invierno en el sur de Argentina y finalmente nos movimos a lo que sería nuestra última parada para pasear. Las dos primeras semanas habían pasado volando, pero todavía teníamos siete días completos para estar juntos. Cuando subimos al motorhome éramos 14 desconocidos, pero después de tanto tiempo compartido ya nos habíamos vuelto todos amigos. La última ciudad que visitaríamos según el itinerario era El Bolsón, en la provincia de Río Negro, <strong>y yo estaba muy emocionada por volver al pueblo que fue mi casa durante dos meses y medio en el verano ❤️.</strong>

When I said goodbye to El Bolsón in May I did so knowing that I would be back in July, so it was not such a sad farewell. I had a beautiful summer working and visiting the mountain refuges of this town, and seeing it in its winter version was something I wanted to do. Piltriquitrón Mountain, the giant that sits on the side of town, never failed to impress me in the 60+ days I lived there, so I figured seeing it in snow would be even more impressive. Indeed it was: the snow made it even more beautiful ❤️.  

<blockquote>Cuando me despedí de El Bolsón en mayo lo hice sabiendo que en julio volvería, así que no fue una despedida tan triste. Tuve un verano hermoso trabajando y visitando los refugios de montaña de este pueblo, y verlo en su versión invernal era algo que quería hacer. El Cerro Piltriquitrón, el gigante que se ubica al costado del pueblo, nunca dejó de impresionarme en los más de 60 días que viví ahí, por lo que supuse que verlo con nieve sería aún más impactante. Efectivamente así fue: la nieve lo hizo aún más hermoso ❤️.

With the motorhome group we arrived in El Bolsón after midday on a rather cloudy day, but with the right weather for a walk. There are many great things to do in this town without having to walk more than 20 km, so some of my travel companions and I decided to take advantage of the afternoon. A good option for a walk nearby is to visit Cerro Amigo, a small 500-meter peak prepared to be visited by entire families due to the ease of its trails 😃.

<blockquote>Con el grupo del motorhome llegamos a El Bolsón después del mediodía en un día bastante nublado, pero con el clima adecuado como para dar un paseo. En este pueblo hay muchas cosas geniales para hacer sin tener que caminar más de 20 km, así que algunos de mis compañeros de viaje y yo decidimos aprovechar la tarde. Una buena opción de paseo cercana es visitar el Cerro Amigo, una pequeña cumbre de 500 metros preparada para ser visitada por familias enteras debido a la facilidad de sus senderos 😃.

The base of Cerro Amigo can be reached by car or by walking 2 km from the town. We had already been walking a lot in the previous days, so walking 20 blocks was not a problem for anyone. This mountain has a total of three viewpoints where each small path is less than 800 meters, which makes it very accessible. To enter this area through the gate you have to pay a ticket, BUT since your friend Lauramica lived in this place for more than two months she knew a way to get in for free. After all, it is a mountain and no one can completely restrict it 😅.

<blockquote>A la base del Cerro Amigo se puede llegar en vehículo o caminando 2 km desde el pueblo. Nosotros ya habíamos estado caminando un montón en los días anteriores, así que caminar 20 cuadras no era un problema para nadie. Esta montaña tiene un total de tres miradores en donde cada pequeño sendero es de menos de 800 metros, lo que lo vuelve muy accesible. Para ingresar a esta área por la puerta hay que pagar un ticket, PERO como su amiga Lauramica vivió más de dos meses en este lugar conocía un camino para entrar gratis. Después de todo, es una montaña y nadie puede restringirla por completo 😅.

This small hill has three viewing points: south, main and north. If you enter through the gate you are in the middle of the three, but thanks to my shortcut we entered directly through the south viewing point. From there you can easily continue walking to the rest. The most interesting one to stay at is the main viewing point, where there is a cross and a wooden platform to sit and have a picnic. From all of them you can get a good view of the town, which from here seemed bigger than I thought 😃.


<blockquote>Este pequeño cerro tiene tres miradores: mirador sur, principal y norte. Si ingresas por la puerta estás en el medio de los tres, pero gracias a mi atajo entramos directamente por el mirador sur. Desde ahí podés seguir caminando al resto fácilmente. El más interesante para quedarse es el mirador principal, en donde hay una cruz y una plataforma de madera para sentarse y hacer un picnic. Desde todos ellos puede obtenerse una buena vista del pueblo, que desde acá me resultó más grande de lo que pensaba 😃.

Since it's a walk very close to the town, visiting Cerro Amigo only takes half an afternoon, which was just the time we had that day. I loved going back to El Bolsón and seeing it with a little more snow. I also took the opportunity to visit my friends from the hostel where I worked in the summer and I was happy to know that everyone was okay. I have a lot of affection for this town because of the good memories I made here and seeing it again in the winter was great. <strong>In the summer the heat here was very heavy, but this time I was able to pose with my cold weather outfit 😅.</strong>


<blockquote>Al ser un paseo muy cerca del pueblo, visitar el Cerro Amigo solo te toma media tarde, que era justo el tiempo que teníamos ese día. Me encantó volver a ir a El Bolsón y verlo con un poco más de nieve. También aproveché para visitar a mis amigos del hostel en el que trabajé en el verano y me alegró saber que todos estaban bien. Le tengo mucho cariño a este pueblo por los buenos recuerdos que generé acá y verlo de nuevo en el invierno fue genial. <strong>En el verano el calor por acá era pesadísimo, pero esta vez pude posar con mi outfit para frio 😅.</strong>
