The cute tulip is one of the most popular plants and the third most popular herb in the world after Rose. Cupped, vibrant colors and elegance are some of the features of this plant. Being among the most popular and affordable flowers, tulips conquered the world. Spring is their time of glory. Originate in South- East Europe **(including Romania)**, North Africa, Asia, Anatolia, Iran, Afghanistan, China, Japan, Kazakhstan and Russia. The diverse species are found in the Pamir Mountains, Hindu Kush and the steppes of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. [Source](http://www.tulipsinthewild.com/maps/tulip_origin_map.html) **Did you know that:** 🌷 Tulips stepped on American soil in 1800. 🌷 Some tulips smell as the name suggests: Apricot Beaty smells like apricots. In fact, there are many species that have a fruity odor. 🌷 Tulips are edible. The petals can be used in salads or desserts - depending on the variety, the taste of the petals varies from beans tasted like the taste, the taste of the lettuce. 🌷 By 1636, tulip bulb was the fourth largest export to the Netherlands after gin, herring and cheese. 🌷 Tulips are cultivated over 500 years. Flower name comes from the Turkish "delband" which means turban. 🌷 There are more than 3,000 tulip varieties. They are divided into 15 groups with great names such as Parrot, Rembrandt and Triumph. 🌷 Tulips belong to the same family of plants that includes lilies, and one of their relatives is ... onions. 🌷 Tulips are those who are "guilty" of the first major European economic crisis: made in Holland by the same Carolus Clusius, tulips have adapted so well to the climate there and were so popular that, shortly, they began to be cultivated throughout the country. And so, in 1635, would trigger "tulip madness" - a time when not only the prices of some types of tulips had become astronomical, but people bought them and at these prices, believing that doing good business. Tulip in the image (Semper Augustus), for example, it is considered the most expensive tulip of all time: a single bulb was bought in exchange for a plot of 49,000 m2. In February 1637, prices collapsed, possibly triggering the first economic crisis of modern times (about the same as in today's housing market). 🌷 "Black Tulip" is actually red. Dark red, indeed (and the name by which it is known is the "Queen of the Night"). The pictures belong to me, made them today on 19th April 2018 in the garden and in the house, the first one is from my garden, it`s origin is Holland and I planted the bulbs 7 years ago, now their seize is the same as my hand {pretty big} - diameter about 18cm, the second photo is a Romanian tulip, a small and gentle tulip with an intense fuschia color. Tulips are so easy to grow. If you want to have a beautiful garden in spring, planted several varieties of tulips of different colors. **NOTE !** If you plant the tulip bulbs even after rain, there is no need to water the plant. Tulip does not need much water, but if it does not rain, you should realize watering at least once after planting and then before blossom. Like roses, the messages tulips transmit are different, depending on the degree of blooming and color. A red tulip symbolizes certainly love while a white tulip is the symbol of forgiveness and a purple symbolizes gratitude and recognition of a noble character. Surprisingly, in terms of physical appearance, a colorful bouquet of tulips is a symbol of admiration for the one who is receiving the bouquet. “A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone. It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose. It doesn’t have to. It is different. And there’s room in the garden for every flower. You didn’t have to struggle to make your face different than anyone else’s on earth. It just is. You are unique because you were created that way. Look at little children in kindergarten. They’re all different without trying to be. As long as they’re unselfconsciously being themselves, they can’t help but shine. It’s only later, when children are taught to compete, to strive to be better than others, that their natural light becomes distorted.” [QuoteSource by Marianne Williamson ](https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/tag/tulips) Love the nature!
