Why blockchain was called by the World Economic Forum as the pillar of 4th Industrial Revolution?

Blockchain is like an umbrella where some technology lies below on it such as DLT or Distributed Ledger Technology, HyperLedger, R3 corda and Ethereum Enterprise Alliance. 
The above mentioned technology also are still in developing process, some of it are almost complete and running, and I think sooner some technology will emerge, solving real world problems.

How can we say this or that technology is a blockchain?
The very foundation of blockchain is that Decentralized, unalterable and cryptographic hashing.
