As Bitcoin trudges forward to assault another large, round number, I have spent much of my day wrestling with the exchange interfaces attempting to slide an order or three in during this mania.

Generally speaking, my order submissions are succeeding at about a 30% rate on Kraken, which is noticeably worse than the usual 50% I've seen since August 1st. I presume this means load at the exchange is higher than normal, which is certainly not unexpected when making new highs. It would also explain why the exchange duplicated some of my orders earlier, and why order it said failed to place had actually been placed twice.

As if that wasn't enough, unfortunately, it does appear Bitcoin withdrawals are down. Initially, I received a typical *"Bad Gateway:Error 504"*, however it now appears withdrawals have been disabled on the server side.

Honestly, Bittrex is vastly more reliable of an exchange than Kraken. I recommend moving your trading activity there if possible, though of course right now, that's not directly possible. Getting approved at these exchanges can be a real headache, so sometimes we have to go with where we can deposit. Nevertheless, Bittrex's interface is far superior for placing and cancelling orders quickly and it rarely experiences the sorts of degradation Kraken does.
