If you've purchased NEO in the last month, you are probably not exactly thrilled. 

Not only did NEO have an unsustainable run from under $1 as AntShares to right about $50, this gain also ran smack-dab into a near-worst case regulatory scenario - China banning ICOs and crypto-exchanges.

As it turns out, Neo's namesake from the Matrix was just a touch better at dodging bullets.

This was a pretty serious double-whammy for what people were calling the "Chinese Ethereum".

Neo is, conceptually, very much like Ethereum. Like Ethereum, the network uses a sort of bandwidth measure as "fuel" to run, called "gas".

The bad news is gas costs money. The good news is that your Neo, much like a Proof of Stake coin, produces a share of Gas every so often based on the amount of stake you own in the Neo economy.

As you can see above, Neo currently provides a "theoretical" return of 15.08% per year, and an actual return of 8.83%. This is really quite good, particularly if you are holding anyway.

Important note: You will ONLY generate gas if your NEO is in an approved wallet, such as the NEO official wallet. You will not generate gas on an exchange. Please see other user's guides on the proper transfer and divisibility of NEO.

<center>__Ledger Nano S Support Looks Promising.__</center>

Thanks to users in the Neo community, working alpha support for Neo on the Nano S is now a reality.

On September 12, the first Neo transaction was signed using a Ledger Nano S. The software is available, but not yet tested and verified by Ledger. However, this is likely to take place relatively soon, so keep an eye out for official support.
