Recently, I posted an article on building a stem-automatic mealworm breeder -  [here's the link](https://steemit.com/nature/@ligayagardener/building-a-mealworm-palace).

It's been a few weeks of apparently no action in the larvae tray, but today saw an explosion of action. The mealworm larvae start tiny, so I was just assuming they were there for a while, hatching from the eggs that fell through the mesh from the beetle tray. Even my magnifiying glass only showed a few fleeting movements that just might have been mealworms.

Today though, there were enough of them and they were big enough that I could see them moving around as they disturbed the bran. I was so excited that I had to share it. I know a coupke of folks used the design idea and have been breeding up their own mealworms. They ate probably at this stage now, as well.

This short video shows what that event looks like. Watch after I move the bran and you can see the flakes move around as the larvae move to safer conditions.

It's exciting if you have mealworms...
