Idi - BW, a former officer of the Serbajadi CRU, Lokop, East Aceh, allegedly involved as the executor of the murder of a Bunta trained elephant.

He acts as a food provider that has been poisoned to the Bunta elephant.

So initially one of the DPOs gave quini and bananas which had been mixed with poison. However, the Bunta did not want to eat, explained the East Aceh Police Chief, AKBP Wahyu Kuncoro, SIK.

According to him, psychologically, the elephant bunta will not eat food from people he does not recognize.

This is where the role of BW is already familiar with Bunta.

Because Bunta does not want to eat when given the fruit, then the BW gives it to eat, said the Chief of Police.

When BW gave the food, Bunta immediately ate the poisoned food.

The reason is, BW was previously recognized by Bunta because he had worked as a cook at the CRU.

The last time he left was February 2018, he also had time to work as a mahot assistant, said the police chief again.

This emotional connection is thought to have caused the Bunta not to suspect the perpetrators' malice.

After the Bunta elephant was poisoned and collapsed, the perpetrator then launched his action to take the ivory of the poor elephant.

They used machetes to cut the tusks of these male elephants. However, because they were urged they also used axes to speed up the process of taking ivory.

The perpetrators also had the intention of cutting other ivory. However, when they wanted to launch their action, they saw the light of a CRU guard flashlight so they rushed to leave the location.
