The other days I finally bought professional watercolours for me and I am really very glad that now we have a ukrainian producer.

This industry is not usually considered as important but from Soviet Union times I suppose main producers were concentrated in Saint-Petersburg. They have three very popular brends "Сонет", "Ладога" and "Мастеркласс". And even now you will still find in artist shops these main brends.

Just two years ago when I decided to start studying of drawing and painting I could not avoid buying oil colours of those brends, since chinese were of bad quality and german were expensive.

Ukrainian were brushes and paper, canvases, but not colours. And how glad I am now to be able to buy our watercolour set :)

I've already tried them and, of course, the difference with ordinary school watercolours is incredible.
