0.000 HBD10 Important Points We Should All Consider - Most Importantly, Be Happy
There is so much stress and anxiety in our day to day life. Much of it caused by our inability to see the positive things that are happening every day. We are so focused on the negative, we forget about all the wonderful aspects of life. We spend so much time busying our days with activities that are not purposeful but help to cover up the anxieties and fear that bombard our daily lives. If we were all able to be more directed and more observant of the positive aspects of life, how might our outlook change? I have read many authors who give advice on how to be more positive. Much of what I have included below has been covered many times before. These are just the 10 aspects that I consider important for myself and those I hope others will value as well. <center></center><center>(Stock/ Royalty Free Image Provided by [Unsplash](https://unsplash.com/photos/yIMy3ERBc3o))</center> Consider the following: **Be Honest With Yourself** – Our lives will only get better once we are honest with ourselves. If we can't be honest with ourselves, how can we be honest with anyone around us? I know this is hard, but it is probably the most important point to make. Life only gets better once we do an honest evaluation of ourselves and confront the issues we need to change. Avoiding the tough issues in our life does not work. We need to deal with problems directly so we can move on to a better life. **Focus On The Now And Focus On What Matters Most -** The past is the past, we can't change it. We shouldn't put so much energy into reliving it. We all need to learn from our past and move on to better things. We shouldn't stress too much about the future, it not even here yet. This doesn't mean we shouldn't plan, we just can't allow it to rule our lives. We need to do the best we can and live NOW. We need to make each moment worth living. If we can begin to let go of the stresses caused by the past and the anxieties caused by the future, maybe we can just BE for a little while. **Me Time** – We need to schedule time for our self every day. We each need to make sure we have some dedicated time to NOT be busy. We can use this time to recharge and find the joys in our day to day lives. This can be just a few minutes at first, but as we see the benefits, hopefully, we can extend it. There is always a few minutes during the day we can all set aside, especially if we get rid of some of the busywork we put in our way to cover up the negativities that rule our lives. **Negativity Breeds Negativity** – If we are constantly focusing on the negative aspects of life, we will only get more negativity. I have never heard of anyone who has been successful based on their ability to focus on negativity. When times are hard, we need to focus on the joys that we all experience, no matter how small. That is where our focus needs to be. This way of thinking will start to influence and train our brain. It will slowly help us push out the negative as more and more positive thoughts occupy our minds. **Fear is only a feeling** – We need to dare ourselves on a daily basis. We need to put our confidence to the test as much as possible. This is how we gain strength. The fear in ourselves is what holds us back. If we are too afraid to try, how can we move forward at all? Remember, life is short. We need to dare ourselves to be better. **Are You Moving In The Right Direction?** – Life should not be a constant chore. We need to enjoy our lives. We are not here just to work, pay taxes, and die. We can be successful if we are happy. Even if the job you hold **Drama, Drama, Drama** – There is drama everywhere and we all get involved to a certain degree but imagine if we didn't. Drama can drain us even if it doesn't really pertain to us. We shouldn't get involved or bogged down by drama. There are too many joys in life to focus on drama. If we are creating drama, we need to stop it. If we are involved with drama, we need to get out. This is lost time, lost energy, and lost opportunity to use that time and energy in more positive ways. <center></center><center>(Stock/ Royalty Free Image Provided by [Unsplash](https://unsplash.com/photos/FaiZNiofP-U))</center> **Don't Worry About What Other Have That You Don't** – We should never waste our precious time worrying about what others have, that we don't. We should never base our happiness on what success looks like to others. When we realize that happiness is truly an individual assessment, we can stop worrying about what we look like to those around us. If we, as individuals or as families, are happy, what does it matter if others do not think we are successful? We all need to be true to ourselves and to our family. One of the most important aspects to remember is there will always be people who don't have what you have right now. No matter what socio-economic class we find ourselves in today, there will be others who wish they had what we do. We take this for granted. How can we be happy if we don't appreciate what we already have? **Don't Be Manipulated** – There is more to this that we might think. Overt manipulation is easy to see. Generally, we can all avoid it. But, there are instances when we are enabling others to manipulate us without really noticing it. If we enable manipulation, it will become the norm and others will expect to take advantage of us in the same way. We should all be charitable, but we can't give continuously if other never give back. That will breed resentment. **Kindness is Key** – We need to treat everyone just like we want to be treated. That means everyone, even those who are not kind to us. People make bad choices all the time, even us but it does not mean we are all bad, it just means we are human. Forgiveness does not mean we are weak. It means we are strong enough to know we make mistakes as well. I am in as much need of the above points as anyone so believe me when I say, I plan on incorporating them as well. I do believe that each would bring value to my life as I hope they can others. Give them all their due consideration and be honest with yourself. How much time do you waste letting the negative aspects of your life rule your mind? <center></center><center>(Stock/ Royalty Free Image Provided by [Unsplash](https://unsplash.com/photos/W0i1N6FdCWA))</center> Enjoying my content?
