Two suggestions about how to improve the steem blockchain
The steem blockchain has a lot of garbage and spam posts in it because a lot of spammers keep on adding spam to it. Here I will present two suggestions that will help stop the high flow of spam to the steem blockchain.

### 1. Decrease the bandwith limit

The bandwith given to users is much higher than the average user uses. A user can post a hundred text posts with ease if he just joined the platform. Often there are new users who are joining the platform primarily to spam it. Adding a stricter bandwith that is, decreasing the bandwith allocated to new users will help stop spammers from posting insane number of garbage posts.

It will not affect the good new users because they will have enough bandwith to post posts the average person posts. The limit should be added by monitoring how much the average user uses so that good contributors are not affected by it. This should be easily implemented by configuring the bandwith algorithm.

### 2. Stop recording posts with five words or less in the blockchain

There are many posts in steem that are just nothing more than "thanks", "upvoted, commented, resteemed". This comments add no value to the blockchain but put extra load to it. Demonitizing these posts by not recording posts with five words or less will surely get rid of a lot of junk. This will increase the speed and stability of the steem nodes.

Recently, steem node slowdown caused some problems in the steemit website because of extra bandwith and the nodes weren't able to keep up with the high load. Implementing the above suggestions will prevent something like that from happening again.
