**Honestly in my more than 4 months stay here on #steemit I never know about DLive, I mean I heard and see a lot about it but never bother to really get into the details.**

Now when I came across with the recent DLive campaign or Spread DLive to social media post I got curious and now had an intense desire to learn more about it.  So I did make some research.

I know that just like me a lot of steemians around are not yet well equipped with enough information about DLive so here I am sharing what I learned, this is for us to be able to know how to use it and how we can monetize our DLive activities.

As I am not a Tech savvy or what this will be a simple explanation for newbies comprehend and to be able to grasp relevant information that could be beneficial to us in our #steemit journey.

And in my wish to learn more about this amazing platform, I did check all the post of DLive on #steemit and literally read all of them except the one which is written in different language although I know it was just a translation of the previous blog.

The way I will be sharing things about DLive will not be the same with the rest who really talked about it more intensely, this will be very simple and easier to understand by people who would be future broadcasters and users of DLive.

>This post will be shared also in my FB page, hoping I could attract at least half of my 2000 followers to share also the wonders of DLive and be able to reach more people to try and use DLive instead of centralized streaming platforms. 

As per the very first post of DLive 4 months ago entitled [“DLive - The First Decentralized Live Streaming Platform on Steem!”](https://steemit.com/dlive/@dlive/dlive-the-first-decentralized-live-streaming-platform-on-steem) I learned that DLive is the first decentralized video live streaming platform on #Steem so I am not sure if there are other video live streaming platform that came after DLive.  I also knew that DLive  is not limited to gaming contents only.

# What do you mean by decentralized and how it differs to youtube?

Just like busy.org or esteemapp DLive is sync with Steemit.com, all contents are synchronized with Steem blockchain, so all contents posted via DLive is also found on Steemit.com and any other condensers.

Chat history is also synchronized to Steem blockchain, messages could be seen as comments on all steem-based websites.

Part of the safety and security measures of DLive, you can log in into DLive using your posting key no need for the main password to get into the platform.

A few weeks back, DLive also launched  #DLiveStarBooster with the purpose to seek out, promote and reward quality contents.
