The last couple of days I've been looking to boost my fiat and stablecoin safety layers. Selling stake at current market levels is a big no-no, and the same goes for pretty much all of my crypto assets, as development continues at a high pace. Thankfully there's this beautiful thing called DeFi. Yield farming is risky, but with risk comes reward, and compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. However, with the global economy and the world in general in uncharted territory, I decided to start moving some of my yield into BUSD and USDT, and cashed out some trading profit. Source: [Geralt](https://pixabay.com/el/illustrations/%cf%80%ce%bb%ce%b7%cf%81%cf%89%ce%bc%ce%ae-%cf%88%ce%b7%cf%86%ce%af%ce%bf-%ce%b1%cf%81%ce%b9%ce%b8%ce%bc%cf%8c%cf%82-%ce%b1%cf%86%ce%b8%ce%bf%ce%bd%ce%af%ce%b1-1036469/) What is happening in Ukraine right now is literally unimaginable, and I still can't believe it's 2022 and the world is still fighting silly wars for power and profit. It's sad but true, and goes to show that we need to change - if not decentralize - the mechanisms that dictate the rules put in place to ensure social order, so that war becomes pointless. Of course that would take a lot of time and work, so it's a long-term goal at best. For the time being, we have way too many psychos in charge of weapons of mass destruction in the world, and things are looking pretty bad. It's infuriating and terrifying, but it's the hand we were dealt and we'll play it like pros. I was expecting a massive BTC correction and serious losses for many altcoins after watching Putin's long-hour speech almost a week ago, but crypto has proven once again how unpredictable it really is. The world is in an extremely dangerous situation, yet BTC is bouncing back in spectacular fashion. Looks like Trudeau's shenanigans generated the right kind of publicity for crypto, and it will be very interesting to see where this leads. With [Ukraine accepting donations in crypto](https://twitter.com/Ukraine/status/1497594592438497282) and Russia probably using it to avoid sanctions, I think it is more than obvious that the space is powerful and the world realizes this. The ability to transfer value anywhere in a censorship-resistant manner is a big deal, and there's no turning back now. Crypto is money on steroids, and we have officially opened Pandora's box. Of course, none of it matters if the world is about to get dragged into a catastrophic military conflict that will send us back to the stone age. However, while it's hard to focus and remain productive with everything going on at the moment, it is a cold world I guess and we have to keep pushing forward and hope for the best. Even if the war ends tomorrow morning, which unfortunately is highly unlikely at this point, the economic effects will be devastating for the entire Eurozone, and dwarf members like the country I live in will soon experience rapid and out-of-control general price increases. It's time to work harder and spend smarter. We are witnessing history in the making and it's weird - and at the same time reasonable - that BTC and crypto in general seems to play an important role in shaping it. If it all ends well, it will mark a new era for the crypto space, which will get the recognition it deserves for the right reasons. If not, at least we can say we tried. That sums it all up for now. # Never forget! NFA - DYOR I'm just a random guy with opinions. This is by no means financial advice. Just my personal thoughts and experiences.
