Hello everyone! I’m lorentm, a digital artist passionate about character design and storytelling through illustration. I’m really excited to welcome you to my blog and share one of my latest creations with you. This piece is a fan art inspired by two characters from the amazing universe of @holozing — Emberion and Glacion. First of all, I want to thank both @holozing and @acidyo for their continuous support of my artwork. It means so much to be able to create and be seen by such an inspiring community.

In this artwork, I imagined Emberion and Glacion in a fiery face-off — two powerful elemental creatures clashing in a moment full of energy and personality. Emberion, the embodiment of fire, exudes fierce passion and raw intensity. Its glowing eyes, flame-wrapped body, and confident stance capture the essence of the fire element perfectly. On the other hand, Glacion brings the chill of the ice element to life with sharp features, a cool-toned body, and an aura that radiates calm yet deadly focus. Creating them in anime style was a joy — their expressions, posture, and powers gave me the perfect canvas to go all out!

Esta pieza es un fan art inspirado en dos personajes del increíble universo de @holozing — Emberion y Glacion. Antes que nada, quiero agradecer profundamente a @holozing y @acidyo por el apoyo constante a mis obras. Es un gran impulso saber que mi arte es valorado por una comunidad tan inspiradora.

> En esta ilustración, imaginé a Emberion y Glacion en un enfrentamiento lleno de energía — dos criaturas elementales poderosas chocando en un momento intenso y lleno de personalidad. Emberion, la representación del fuego, irradia pasión ardiente y una intensidad salvaje. Sus ojos brillantes, cuerpo envuelto en llamas y pose desafiante capturan a la perfección la esencia de este elemento. Glacion, por su parte, trae consigo la serenidad helada del hielo, con rasgos afilados, cuerpo en tonos fríos y un aura que transmite concentración y poder gélido. Representarlos al estilo anime fue un verdadero disfrute — sus expresiones, posturas y poderes me ofrecieron un lienzo perfecto para desatar mi creatividad.

Emberion is a small but mighty dragon-like creature with smooth red scales and large expressive eyes. Its wings are compact but strong, and it has curved horns that point backward like blazing flames. It has a cream-colored belly and fierce claws, which add to its fiery nature. Around its body, I added flame motifs that symbolize the intensity of its inner power.

Glacion, in contrast, has a sleek icy-blue body with crystalline elements along its tail. Its horns are sharper and resemble icicles, and its stance is lower and more tactical — as if it's calculating its opponent’s every move. The cool palette and spiky ice-like details really helped emphasize its icy persona.

> Emberion es una pequeña pero poderosa criatura de aspecto dracónico, con escamas rojas brillantes y ojos grandes y expresivos. Sus alas son pequeñas pero firmes, y tiene cuernos curvados que se inclinan hacia atrás como si fueran llamas. Su vientre es de un tono crema y sus garras afiladas le dan un aire aún más fiero. Alrededor de su cuerpo agregué un aura de fuego para reforzar visualmente el poder que lleva dentro.

> Glacion, por otro lado, tiene un cuerpo esbelto en tonos azul hielo, con detalles cristalinos a lo largo de su cola. Sus cuernos son más filosos y recuerdan a carámbanos, y su postura es más baja y estratégica — como si analizara cada movimiento de su oponente. La paleta fría y los detalles punzantes ayudan a construir esa personalidad gélida tan marcada.

## Process / Proceso

I always start with a rough sketch. In this case, I wanted to capture the dynamic tension between the two characters. I played with their poses to make sure they looked like they were about to leap into action. I kept the shapes exaggerated to match the anime-chibi style, which helped enhance their emotional expressions and energy.

Then came the linework. I cleaned up the sketch using bold but rounded lines to keep the cute yet intense vibe consistent. This step helped define the character silhouettes, especially around the wings, claws, and horns — areas that really stand out in these elemental designs.

For coloring, I went with high contrast to emphasize their opposing natures. Emberion’s red-orange tones contrasted nicely with Glacion’s icy blues and purples. I chose flat colors first to block the main shapes before diving into the lighting details.

Adding shadows gave depth and dimension to their forms. I used soft shading on their bodies and sharper shadows around the claws and horns to bring out their power. I wanted each character to feel three-dimensional and alive within their respective energy fields.

Highlights were crucial to bring out that magical intensity. Emberion’s flames got glowing edges, while Glacion’s icy aura sparkled with cool light. I used rim lighting to further separate them from the background and give that anime “glow” effect.

Finally, I crafted a split background: one side burning with flame-like shapes and the other bursting with shards of icy light. This contrast not only matches their elements but also frames the battle moment in an epic, energetic way.

> Siempre comienzo con un boceto. En este caso, quería capturar la tensión dinámica entre los dos personajes. Jugué con sus poses para que parecieran a punto de lanzarse al combate. Exageré un poco las formas para adaptarlas al estilo chibi-anime, lo que ayudó a acentuar sus expresiones y la energía general de la escena.

> Luego pasé al delineado. Limpié el boceto con líneas firmes pero redondeadas, para mantener ese estilo entre adorable e intenso. Esta etapa me permitió definir bien las siluetas, especialmente en las alas, garras y cuernos, elementos clave en sus diseños elementales.

> Para el coloreado, elegí un contraste alto que reflejara sus naturalezas opuestas. Los tonos rojo-anaranjados de Emberion contrastan con los azules y violetas fríos de Glacion. Primero apliqué colores planos para bloquear las formas principales, y luego pasé a los detalles de iluminación.

> Las sombras le dieron profundidad y volumen a sus cuerpos. Usé sombreado suave en las áreas amplias y sombras más marcadas en garras y cuernos para destacar su fuerza. Quería que cada personaje se sintiera tridimensional y con vida dentro de su aura elemental.

> Los brillos fueron clave para acentuar la intensidad mágica. Las llamas de Emberion tienen bordes resplandecientes, mientras que el aura de Glacion brilla con una luz fría y cristalina. Utilicé iluminación de contorno para separarlos aún más del fondo y darles ese efecto brillante típico del anime.

> Finalmente, creé un fondo dividido: un lado ardiente con formas flameantes, y el otro estallando con fragmentos de luz helada. Este contraste no solo refuerza sus elementos sino que enmarca el momento de batalla con un aire épico y enérgico.

Creating this fan art was such a rewarding experience. Not only did it allow me to explore elemental contrasts in design, but I also got to play with a dynamic composition that really brought the characters to life. I’m so grateful to the @holozing community and especially to @acidyo and @holozing themselves for inspiring and supporting my art journey.
