20.639 HBDSuggestion: Add Governance & Proposal Details to PeakD's Wallet Page
Many of you probably already know that PeakD.com is hands down my favorite tool for interacting with the Hive blockchain. I’ve tried pretty much every frontend out there, but PeakD has consistently stood out for me. It offers everything I need, right where I expect it to be. The user experience feels polished, the features are well integrated, and I can manage my Hive account, blog, and governance activity all in one place without jumping through hoops. That said, no matter how good a platform is, there’s always room for improvement. And since I spend a lot of time on Hive and care deeply about its ecosystem, I naturally find myself thinking about what could be made even better. Today, I took a closer look at the wallet overview page and started brainstorming how it might be enhanced a little. In particular, I think there’s an opportunity to present governance-related information in a more visible and user-friendly way. Things like which DHF proposals a user is currently supporting, who they are proxying their votes to, and their voting weight in key areas of governance are all relevant pieces of information, especially for those of us who are actively involved in Hive’s future direction. Right now, these details are somewhat scattered or buried a few clicks deep. I believe that surfacing them in a clearer, more accessible layout could make a big difference... not only for power users, but also for people who are just starting to get involved in governance and want a better understanding of what’s going on. So, as I often do when something catches my interest, I opened up the browser console again and started modifying the HTML DOM manually. I wasn’t trying to build a full feature or anything, but I wanted to prototype a few ideas and get a better sense of how these improvements might actually look and feel in the real interface. Even if it's just temporary and rough, it helps me think through things more concretely. Here’s what I imagine: ### HIVE Governance & DHF Proposals Overview When you're viewing a user’s wallet — or your own — I believe there should be a centralized, dedicated section that highlights all relevant governance information. Right now, bits of this data are scattered across different tabs or require clicking through several layers. I think it would be incredibly useful to have everything displayed clearly in one place. Below are a few thoughts on what such a section could include and how it might work: 1. **General Display Conditions**
I could imagine this entire section being optional, so it doesn’t clutter the interface for users who aren’t interested in governance. It might only appear if someone has enabled "Advanced Options" at the top left of the interface. That way, it stays out of sight for users who just want the basics, but power users can toggle it on for a more detailed view. It’s a clean and simple solution that respects different usage styles while making advanced information easily accessible to those who want it.

2. **Witness Votes Overview**
In this section, I imagine it would be really helpful to display a user's currently active witness votes directly and clearly. Right now, this kind of information **does exist** ... for example, you can see it when viewing someone’s profile — but it's a bit buried and not especially user-friendly. Bringing it front and center into the wallet view would make it much more accessible and useful. Here’s how I picture it: right under the "Governance" area, there could be a quick summary that shows the number of active witness votes. When you click on that number, it would expand or open a modal showing the full list of witnesses the user is voting for — similar to what’s already available in other parts of PeakD, just better integrated here.
Next to that, I think we should also display the amount of HIVE Power the user is currently using for governance, along with a separate figure showing any HIVE Power that is being delegated to them via proxy. This is an important distinction, especially for users who act as proxies for others.
And here’s where it gets interesting: clicking on the proxy power value would bring up a breakdown showing which accounts have delegated their voting power to this user, and how much each of them has contributed. This kind of transparency and accessibility could really help people better understand the influence behind certain votes — and make governance activity on Hive feel more visible, connected, and meaningful.

3. **DHF Proposal Voting Breakdown**
Another thing I’d love to see is a clear overview of which DHF proposals a user has voted for. Right now, unless I’m missing something, there’s no straightforward way to check this for any given user — not even for yourself. I think this is a real gap, especially considering how important proposal funding is for Hive's ecosystem.
Ideally, this section would list all currently supported proposals along with a quick status indicator, like whether they are still active or have already passed their funding window. But more than just listing the proposals, I think it would be incredibly useful to show the actual influence of your voting power, including any additional weight from proxy voters. For example, if I hold 1 million Hive Power and I vote on a proposal that is above the return proposal threshold, it would be great to see how much of the total funding support that represents — maybe as a percentage of the overall approval weight or the daily funding limit.
Not only would this offer deeper insight into the mechanics of the DHF, but I also think it could create a stronger incentive for users to support interesting or innovative proposals. When people can actually see the impact their vote has, they’re far more likely to get involved. Governance shouldn't feel invisible — and this could help bring it into the spotlight.

4. **Bonus: Governance Inactivity Reminder** As a little extra feature, I could also imagine showing a small note or alert about how long it has been since a user last made a governance-related action, such as voting for a witness or proposal. This would be particularly helpful because, as many of us know, governance votes on Hive can eventually expire if not updated within a certain timeframe. A visual reminder in the wallet could nudge users to stay active and informed — without being annoying or intrusive.
**So what do you think about these suggestions?** I genuinely believe they could add real value to the platform, especially for those who care about the long-term direction of Hive and want to stay engaged. Thanks for taking the time to read through my thoughts!
