The Update that I am sharing is a big one and already there are many articles available but I would like to share my viewpoints as well because this is not a small change. From the long-time new user demand then what splinterlands have for us? I am talking about users who are not able to invest a good amount of crypto in the splinterlands. Most of them play in [modern format](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-modern-and-wild-formats) because obviously, new users going to use new cards and the modern format is heaven for the new [card](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-card) holders.

See, old cards' prices are higher so new players or players who can't invest are not going buy these cards and because of this reason, they are going to play modern format. But already there were bots who ruled the modern format. But after this big update, there are no more bots and that is the positive thing for the human players. This is like a big gift for those who want to play modern. But it is not good for the old player like me because we are wild format players. Now after this change bots are coming to the [wild format](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-modern-and-wild-formats) but at least we have the other option.

These bots keep improving according to the game and that is why splinterlands becomes more competitive than before. Day by day, These optimized bots are becoming more dangerous for the real players. Well, the modern format was a lot harder than the wild before this change because those optimized bots were really dangerous. I was reading about players' experiences on Discord and they are happy in the modern because they are facing unoptimized teams, new teams, teams with mistakes, and sometimes no team lol.  This thing really excites me to join the modern format immediately. So I am going to play modern from now?

## Am I Switching To Modern?

Even with the low-level cards I can do better in modern because I read the review of other players and checked the data that I am going to share below. But I am not yet decided to play in modern because I have old cards with upgraded levels. I will play modern tomorrow with available cards and then I am going to decide whether I should in modern or wild only or in both. Because I am very confused in this matter.

I am checking closely and decide after some time because this update is still new. However, now user earning is very good in the modern but I believe earning will decrease in the coming days so it is better to wait and see I am in full mood to join the modern format because I have some good [untamed edition](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-untamed-edition) and [chaos legion edition](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-chaos-legion-edition) cards that I can utilize in the modern format. First I will try this for the next 2-3 days. Wait and explore more and then decide.

You can clearly see in the graph that modern players are reduced I mean to say bots are switched to the wild after this change and it is the biggest bot ban effect. So what we can expect in the near future? Is Splinterlands officially announced the wild format for the bots and the modern format for a human?  Let's talk.

So after some time, more players are going to join the modern format so the reward will reduce in the modern format less than what players are getting now. But the big benefit will be no optimized bot team will come against you. Now they don't want that bots left completely because these bots are whales and because of this reason they have done justice. Users wanted a bot ban for a long time this is a demand for a long time and I liked this positive update.
