To anyone not living under a rock (or even living under a rock, but with  a steemit account), it it quite apparent the censorship flagging wars on here are  roughly along ideological lines.

If you do not think this is a problem, you have a problem.

For two reasons.

Firstly (imo), the pulse of ideology is ripping to shreds the postmodernist (marxist) logic that has prevalent in western society for the last 5 decades.
It is dying. Period. A blip of insanity to satiate the weak minded.
Platforms that support this perspective will die with the ideology. It's not rocket science - just look at _all_ the leftist media that is collapsing, online.
People are not engaging!
Then ook at businesses taking on the 'SJW mantle', and then see the results to their businesses!

People are  _turning away_ from this paradigm. (at last!)

As for steemit ... 
People will bypass those 'leftist' places. 
The dynamic of authoritarianism is dying in this new world (and the establishment is now fighting tooth and claw, to halt  this change with 'financial censorship'. Patreon, mastercard, et. al.)

Wherever the aggressive commie authoritarianism is prevalent, the people won't be. 
They will be somewhere else altogether.

And so, back to steemit.

On the assumption you are not brain dead, then aggressive censorship  through financial censorship (DOWNVOTING),  will only have a detrimental effect to the steem ecosystem.

I see no reason for _99% of the aggressive downvoting_  - apart from being on ideological grounds.


If it ideological, I can understand it. 
Stupidity is easy to understand, no matter how frustrating.
And if it is ideological, then it is putting a loaded gun to the head of the steemit ecosystem. 

Steemit will be seen as a _no free speech_ platform. 
If you get penalized for speaking your mind, what else is  it? 
Taking upvotes off people for what they say   _is_ stifling free speech, not matter how you cut it.
(the technical arguments are not valid - it is  _only how it appears_, that matters).

The more I look around this platform, the more I see the powerful as being leftist, authoritarian - and very childish,  in their outlook. (Wall street bankers are just as leftist as the most ardent commie, lets not forget that).

_And that is  a loaded gun to the head of the steemit ecosystem._

The genuine free speech advocates need to organize. 
I care not about political viewpoints,  _just the principle of free speech at all times_.

Down voting because political ideology (and  personal dislike) is _anti free speech_ , and _anti steemit_ .... if you are here to grow money, that is...

If you think 'the left' are winning, then I would advise staying here, sucking off your masters, and picking up some crumbs off the  table - before they steal it all back off you later (after you doing all the work of course).
It's the way of socialism.

#### If you think the 'common sense' lot are winning, then 'we' need to organize. The combination of all of us 'free speechers' is greater than the biggest authoritarians on here.
Your long term  independence sometimes necessitates giving up short term independence.
Ask any army. 
It is self preservation , not acquiescence. (Learn from the left and use it against them...)

And as an investor, and looking for steemit to grow, then sitting on the fence is no longer an option.
Invest, grow, and have it taken off you later - or grow with a sense of freedom and free speech and flourish...

Free speech is growing...what would a wise investor do..?
Back the winner.
Throw your investment weight behind the winning team...because if you don't....
