...TIME...
There's never enough time in a day! I don't have time to! I'm just killin' time. You only have so much time. When time runs out... Time to go. This time/next time... Timey-whimey... TIMES UP!

What is time and why do we obsess over it? Is time when the sun goes up and when the sun goes down? If it is, does it only matter on Earth? The sun rises and sets differently on the other planets in our solar system. And what about the gagillion other planets, moons and whatevers, that AREN'T in our solar system? So likely, MOST of us don't think time is derived from our sun, even if it seems to manage it.

Is it sand that slips through an hourglass? Is it the hands of a clock? No. So then what IS time? Is it just a measurement given to humans by the gods or forces of nature that be? Is it a gift or a curse that corrals our thoughts and keeps us living like good drones? Gotta get up and go/gotta lie down and sleep so I can (fill in the blank here, since we all are chasing different goals; different carrots dangling in front of us, as it were). Is time just there to keep us zombified?

I can't help but feel like time is something different for everyone, just like love is. Ask people what their definition of time or love is, and note the various responses you will get back; most of them, quite passionate, in fact. And if it IS, indeed, from the gods or forces of nature, then do the same laws of time have dominion over them, too? Can the rules of time be bent? Broken? Changed? I mean, we manipulate time for Daylight Savings, right? So then, we as humans aren't COMPLETELY ruled by time. Yet, we also can't escape it.

Time wears out our bodies. Time wears out this, that, and the other thing. Everything is impacted by time, but we can't harness it, trap it, tie it up, or even TRULY change it, even if we are good at manipulating the illusion of it. But time is alive and it consumes everything in the end. So then, is it our friend or foe? Is it a straight line as in a "timeline"; I was born on this day, this happened on this day, so on and so forth until the day I pass? Or is it circular or like a spiral? This would look like a timeline, but continuous, and as it loops around, we swear we have been here before or done this at an earlier point in our existence, or even have a feeling of dejavu. Or is time more like a sphere, or a globe, that only has our personal existence trapped within, but infinite possibilities beyond? Think of a snow globe- you shake it up and the tiny pieces of pseudo-snow spiral around inside of it, free to float, drift, and settle wherever they are encouraged to by the forces that exist within that globe, but only within that globe. Outside of that globe, a whole world, an entire existence, continues it's dance without notice of the globe that is held within your hand, that is, by anyone else except for you.

What if time is something so complex, so large, so detailed and elaborate that we could never understand it or even grasp at the tassels of it to even begin to comprehend it's magnificence? I wonder- is time even important, and if so, why? And how? What am I to do with time? Am I right or wrong for how I spend my time? And is time on my side?

I do know that with as little understanding as I have regarding time, I only have theories, ideas, wonderings and a few ponderings about it. I know that I love to spend time with the ones I love. I know that as the sun rises, so does my Spirit, and I know that as the sun sets, the moon rises and wiskes me off to a time and space inside my own mind where my body rests and my thoughts and Spirit masquerade together in a dance of awakening while I slumber. I also know that my art has a place in time and that creating it is one of my deepest joys and most intrinsic uses of time. And I know that everyone who reads this has spent some of their time entertaining my thoughts about time, and for that, thank you. May time be on your side.![lordoftime.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmbX6r3Aou2Tks2uQug4ZuD9kQ9B3U9ABAUfCAHxHdAPis/lordoftime.png) This piece is called, "Lord of Time". I hope you enjoy it!
