These last few days we witnessed autumn's greatest show. We loved seeing the leaves changing colours and later on turning the streets into an yellow path.

This yellow path made me think of the yellow brick road, from the Wizard of Oz.

Fall colour enriches the roads in the city, turning them into a fairytale land.

Autumn is a time to play as leaves offer a great opportunity to learn for children.

 You can simply walk on them and enjoy the sound they make or use them in various scenarios of imaginative play.

You can even use them as material for arts and crafts.

Take your child out for a walk and ask him to collect as many colourful leaves as he can find.

Later on, at home, he can examine them while you can help him understand why leaves change colours when it gets colder.

 (It's because the trees stop making chlorophyll, the green pigment in leaves!)
